Every time
someone walks into this little diner I look towards the door nervously but so far he isn’t here. He’s 20 minutes late and that’s not like him so I’m worrying and hoping nothing has happened to him. “ I wonder what your brother ordered us for dinner.” “There’s only one way to find out.” Jason led me to the table and helped me to my seat. Then removed the lids from the food and poured the Champaign than sat himself.
“This isn’t easy for me.”
“Don’t worry about it, whatever it is I can handle it.” He took a deep breath and the poor Jason seems so nervous so I put my hand over his and squeezed his hand. He looked at me in the eyes, “Carol we’ve known each other for a long time and I hated the time we were apart because of your separation from Adam.”
“What are you getting at?”
“Carol...I love you and I have for such a long time.” “Oh my God.”
“Is that good or not?” I smiled. “That makes what I have to tell you so much easier.”

“Wow, um...how long?”
“Well when you met Adam I had a crush on you which as I grew turned into love.”

“Are you kidding? You were my brother’s best friend, you’re four years older, which when I was 16 and 17 seemed like a much bigger thing than it is now, and I always felt you just thought of me as Adam’s bratty little sister, who wouldn’t leave you guys alone.”
“I never thought that, and I loved when you hung out with us, Adam that’s a different story, he didn’t always like having you around but I did,” he smiled. “Now we knew why I didn’t tell you so why did you not tell me?”
“Well like I told Adam you were 17 and I was waiting till you turned 18, then you guys had that fight and I never saw you.”
“I’m sorry I never meant to lose our friendship.”
“Well that’s in the past,” he took my hand and kissed it. “So Adam knew how you felt?”
“He just found out recently.”
“So this was his way to get you to tell me?”
“Yeah, he wants us to be happy.”
“We should get him for interfering in our lives.”
“What’s on your mind?” I told him my plan. “That’s perfect, you think that Steph will help us?”
“Yes, so what do you want to do for the rest of the night?”
“Something that I’ve wanted to do for a long time,” he leant in and kissed my lips, then once more before deepening the kiss. His hand moved and began rubbing my inner thigh. He pulled from the kiss and we looked at each other, his hand brushed against my face and he moved closer and began to kiss my neck. “Jason I want you,” I whispered. He picks me up in his arms and carries me to one of the beds and he lays me down. He removes his shirt than moves onto me removing mine. He returns to kissing my neck. I move my hands and undo the button and zipper of his blue jeans as he removes my bra. He kisses down to my breasts, taking one into his mouth and gently sucks on it. His hands moved down and undid the zipper of my skirt. He moved down removing that along with my panties, then he proceeded to remove his jeans and boxers. He moved back on top of me and kissed me. He looked into my eyes, “Are you sure you want this tonight?”
“Yes I’m sure.” He started kissing me again. While he was kissing me he slowly entered me. He began moving in long slow strokes, every now and then increasing the speed and force. I was reaching and he began to move faster. As I reached I felt him explode into me. Moments later he lied on me, gently kissing my neck. “I love you Jason, and this was amazing.”

“Go to hell Adam!” And I walked away smiling.
“What happened?”
“Thanks a lot Adam, you couldn’t leave me alone and handle this on my own time, no you had to interfere, thanks a lot, I thought you were my friend.”

“Thanks for messing up my life,” Jason went into his room slamming the door in Adam’s face.

“They were fighting and she hates him.”

“You should, you messed up their chance for happiness with each other, you couldn’t let Jason do things on his own time, no it had to be your way.”

“It didn’t and now they’re fighting, great job Adam.”

“So what happened after I left.”

“I know, he’ll know he was right but it was still fun.”
“You’re right.” Jason captured my mouth with his. We heard Adam clear his throat so we stopped kissing and looked at him. “So um sis this is what you do when you hate someone?”
“Adam.”
“What’s going on?” Jason and I just looked at each other smiling. “You two really weren’t fighting?”
“No Adam, we were just having fun with you.” “Why?”
“Just to teach you a lesson.”
“Do you know how bad I felt?”
“Aww...that was the point big bro.”

“Are you two together?”
“Yes,” Jason said. “Then no because I was right to do what I did.”

“Wait, how did you guys know that I was coming to get you?”
“The second you walked out the door Stephanie called us to tell us.” He looked at her, “Honey.”
“I thought that it was a good idea when Carol phoned me this morning and told me what she wanted to do.”
“I don’t believe you three did this and that I fell for it.” “Are you mad at me Adam?”
“No,” he stated sounding defeated. “Guys let’s go,” I said. The guys check us out and grabbed our bags and we left.
“The only reason he did it is because he has plans for Steph.”
“Do you know what?”
“No he won’t tell me but we’ll find out tomorrow.”
“Tomorrow will be great.”
“Your first Christmas with Adam in five years.”
“Yes and our family is really happy, they said that this is the best gift we could have given them.”
“So where did you spend Christmas?”
“Well I’d go to see my family days before, they all tried to get us to reconcile but nothing worked.”
“Tell me that you didn’t spend Christmas alone.”
“I was with friends.” “Ok good.”
“So what did you get me?”
“You have to wait till the morning.”

“So you only got me one gift?”
“No I got you more than one but the one I’m thinking about is worth the wait.”
“Ok.” He gets up from my arms, “What are you doing?”
“Getting us something to drink.”
“Don’t be long.” He went into the kitchen and came back but he put on his jacket and shoes. “Sweetie where are you going?”
“To the convenient store.”
“Why?”
“Because we need a few things.”
“Can’t it wait?”
“I’ll only be about 15 minutes.”
“Ok, but hurry up.”
“I won’t be long,” he came over to me, kissing me. “Get one of the blankets from our bed and some pillows, and get the video ready then make yourself comfy here on the couch, so you’ll be able to warm me up when I get back,” he smiles. “Ok.” He left and I grabbed the stuff from our room, fixed it up on the couch then put the video in the VCR. I got comfortable on the couch when then lights went out. “Damn it, so much for the Christmas cartoons, oh well we can find other things to do,” I got up from the couch. “I wonder where the guys keep the candles.” I went into the kitchen and started to fumble threw the drawers. “Damn it guys I know we have some, Jason and I use them all the time but where are they.” I heard the door open, “Oh good Jason you’re home, where do you guys keep the candles.” I got no answer, so I headed to where I saw the light, I guess Jason has a flashlight. “Jason sweetie why won’t you answer me?” I got into the living, “Hello Carol.”

“Did you think that I would let you go that easy?”

“I don’t think that you should move, we’ve called an ambulance.”

“Ok,” they helped him up. “Where’s my cell?”
“Here, I used it to call the ambulance.”
“Thanks for your help I’ve got to go.”
“What about your stuff?” he didn’t hear the guy. He called over to Steph’s place, “Adam I need your help.” “What’s wrong?”
“Your sister’s in danger, it’s Sam please hurry home.” “I’m on my way.”
“You, I thought I took care of you.”
“You have to do more than push me down a flight of icy stairs to stop me from protecting my love,” he looked at me holding my face. “My love are you ok?”
“She’s not your love she’s mine.”
“The hell she is, she’s chosen to be with me so leave her the hell alone.”

“I’m not fighting for her, she’s her own person and she’s free to chose who she wants to be with and she wants you out of her life so get out of it.”

“I ain’t stopping you.” Jason came over to me not taking his eyes off Sam as he walked by him, “Love are you ok?”

“Ok whatever you want, I won’t for you.” He wrapped his arms around me, “Thank you Jason, I love you.” “I love you too.”
“I don’t believe this you’re wrapped around her finger.”
“I’ll take care of this,” he whispered to me. As he got up Sam hit him with something, knocking him out. “Jason!” I went to him, “Jason wake up, please wake up.”
“Now that he’s out we can get back to where we left off.” “Please stay away from me.”

“But you’re supposed to be out.”
“Well I’m home.” I moved back over to Jason and tried to wake him as Adam and Sam fought. I felt for a pulse, which he had. “Please Jason wake up, I need you.” I brushed the hair from his face and lightly kissed his lips. I looked up to Adam and he had just knocked out Sam. He went to the door, “Adam don’t leave.” But he just went to the door and Steph came into the room. Adam came over to me and pulled me up into his arms, “Are you ok?”
“My face hurts but I’m fine, how did you know what was happening?” he wiped the tears from my face, “Jason called me.” I looked down at Jason, he was still out, I kneeled back down as did Adam. I placed my hand on his chest. “Um guys I’ve called the cops and there’s also an ambulance coming for Jason.”
“No,” I head come from Jason weakly. “You’re awake Jason.”
“Yes.” “How’s your head?”
“It hurts baby but I’ll be fine.”
“You should see a doctor just to be on the safe side.” “I can’t.” “Why?”
“We have a video to watch.”
“Oh Jason we can watch it another time.”
“No we can’t it’s a Christmas tape.”
“So we’ll watch it next year.” Jason sat up, “Honey don’t move.”
“Please I’m fine help me to the couch.”
“You won’t take no for an answer will you?”
“No,” so I helped him up slowly, then to the couch. As he sat down the cops came in, which Adam and Stephanie handled. I put the blanket around Jason and me and he lied in my arms. Sam was arrested for break in and entering and assault. The paramedics attended to Adam and Jason. They think that Jason has a concussion but he refuses to go anywhere.
“It’s ok.”
“No it’s not I should have stayed, you wouldn’t have gotten hurt if I stayed, I should have listened to you.”
“I didn’t tell you not to go.”
“It’s not what you said but how you said it, you were begging me with your voice and eyes to stay.”
“Jason it’s really ok as long as you’ll be alright, I don’t care.”
“I just have a headache that’s all.”
“So guys can we watch this video?”
“Yes Adam.”
“I’m also sorry my plans for you got ruined.”
“What are you talking about? We’re going to watch the video.”
“That’s not all I had planned.”
“What else.”
“You should know me by now,” he smiled. “Guys enough chit chatting and sis put the video on,” Adam said as he and Steph got comfortable on the floor. “Jason are you comfortable?”
“In your arms, of course.”
“Guys,” Adam said so I switched on the video.
“Just get into bed, I normally don’t have to fight to get you into bed, now get your beautiful self into our bed.”
“Yes sir.” I got back into bed, “I’m in bed Jason.” He came in with breakfast, “Jason you didn’t have to do this.”
“Of course I did, Merry Christmas love.”
“Merry Christmas Jase.” He placed the tray over my legs and kissed me. I placed my hand on his face, “How are you feeling this morning?”
“I’m fine my headache is gone.”
“That’s good.”
“But you have quite the bruise.”
“Don’t worry I’ll cover it up and no one in my family will see it.”
“I feel so bad.” “Don’t, it’s over.”
“It better be.” I started eating, “This is good.”
“Thank you.” “Did you make anything for Adam and Steph?” “They’re not here.” “Where are they?”
“They went to Steph’s place.” “Why?”
“So we can be alone but don’t worry Adam will be by around 4 to pick you up to go to your family dinner.”
“I wish you were coming with me.”
“I’m going to have dinner with my family but I’ll be thinking of you and we have all day together, then later when we are back home we’ll enjoy each other.”
“That’s perfect.”
“Hurry up and eat I want you to open your gifts.”
“Do you want me to choke?” “No.”
“Then let me eat honey.”
“Fine, but I’m just really excited about this.”
“I can tell, have you eaten?”
“Yes.” “What I’m not good enough to eat with?”
“You were sleeping and I was hungry.” “It’s fine.” “Can we stop talking so you can finish eating.”
“Yes honey.” He didn’t say a word and he didn’t let me say anything till I was done eating.
“No you didn’t.”
“Well you are beautiful, especially in that negligee.”
“You’re pretty hot there yourself in those silk boxers,” he blushed. “Are you cold?”
“No I’m fine.” He grabbed a few gifts and we sat next to each other opening them. “Here’s the last one.”
“That’s a big box, so this is the one you say will be worth the wait?” he shook his head yes and sat in front of me. I removed the bow and playfully tossed it at Jason. He just smiled. I slowly tore off the paper and there was a plain brown box. “Interesting.”
“Just open the box.” I remove the tape and open the box to find more paper, I look at Jason and he smiles. “What are you up to?” he says nothing, he just looks at me. I remove the paper from the box to find a smaller box that is wrapped. “You’re unbelievable.” I unwrapped that and it’s a little black velvet case. He takes it from me before I can open it. He moves onto one knee in front of me and opens the case, revealing a small diamond ring. He took the ring out of the case and held it in front of me, his hand shaking a bit, “Love will you marry me?” he said nervously. I smiled with tears falling down my face. “Yes Jason I will.” He slid the ring onto my finger then kissed me. “So was it worth the wait?”
“It is the best gift I’ve ever gotten.”
“Good, but love you do have one more to open, but you’ll have to wait till later.”
“What is it?” he smiles. “Me.”
“I can’t wait for that gift but do I only get it on Christmas?”
“No you can have that gift 365 days a year if you want.” "What about leap years.”
“Well then you can have me 366 days during the leap year.”
“I love you Jason with all my heart.”
“As I love you.” He moved next to me taking me into his arms and pulling a blanket around us, and we stayed there until we had to get ready to leave.
