Flair Defeats Funk in a Death Match at SuperBrawl

No one died, no one bled (unless you count the trickles of blood from Funk's chest), but both Ric Flair and Terry Funk were brutalized in their Death Match at SuperBrawl. It was the match of the night and it was between the two oldest wrestlers in the company! Both men put their bodies on the line during the match and took some great bumps! Funk's chest was chopped so hard by Flair that he was bleeding from it and many blood vessels were broken in his chest as well. Funk submitted to Flair's Figure-Four at one point as well, but of course, the match could only be won by the last man standing so the match continued. Flair was pile-driven onto the padded area of the floor, then onto the concrete floor, and finally through a table! Flair then stopped Funk's attempt at putting him through another table by pushing Funk off the top rope and through a table. Funk could not answer the 10-count. Therefore, "The Nature Boy" prevailed! An interesting note about the match is that Flair was by far the crowd favorite. I enjoyed the match, as well as Ric's interviews on the show a great deal!
