Ratchet:
Deadlocked

This October get ready for the game of the century. Ratchet:
Deadlocked
will be released and ready to the blow the
minds of any player. No, literally.  This next installment of
the greatest franchise on Earth will leave any player
wanting more, and more they  will get. For those of you who
are already into the Ratchet and Clank series this will be a
real treat. From a whole new weapon upgrade system,  to an
increase of the integration of ships, this game will no doubt
satisfy the tastebuds of any shooter lover out there.

THE STORY

Ratchet is in a predicament. He has been caught by an evil
mogul, Gleeman Vox, who has placed a collar around
Ratchet's neck. This collar will explode if Ratchet should
any reason choose to try and run away.

Gleeman Vox places Ratchet in a series of tournaments
which in whole is called Dreadzone. This is due to Vox's
show, which he wants to increase the audience. Vox sees
that Ratchet is the best warrior on the show yet. Through
more open environments and difficult enemies Ratchet
will battle till the end. The end however will not come
unless Ratchet puts an end to Vox.

With Clank's help in the background, being the mission
coordinator,  Ratchet and Clank will try to stop Vox while
entertaining him in his battles of Vox's shows.

THE SPECS

The game will start off in default Lock-Strafe, unlike any
Ratchet and Clank game thus far.  The weapon system is
much different. Instead of having an array of over or
around 30 weapons there will only be as much as 10. No
worries though, this is where the weapon upgrading
system shines in glory. As in previous games there were
mods for specific weapons, but now there are mods you
can buy and equip it to any weapon you desire. Let's say a
rocket launcher is in use, if a freezing mod is equipped to it
then when the rocket launcher is fired it will start to freeze
its opponents. That same mod can instead be hooked up to
the lava gun (if in fact that weapon is in the game) and
freeze enemies.

Clank is no longer running around with Ratchet , instead he
is someplace elsewhere making contact to Ratchet and
helping him on his way.  Instead of Clank are AI robots
which will be allies in Ratchets journey.  They are there to
be given commands from the player. From asking them to
turn a bolt to open a door, to making them cover Ratchet
while he turns the bolt himself,  they are there for total
support.

There will be two new vehicles along with the two previous
vehicles. The vehicles are more integrated into the game
this time round. More missions will require you to take up a
vehicle and bring your foes to their demise. The vehicle
will most likely be a hoverbike, and an armored tanklike
structure, along with the previous hovership, and
turboslider.

What will extremely spike interests is the fact that there is
now  co-op play in campaign/story mode. That  means that
you and a friend can take on Dreadzone both at once. This is
a really nice addition to the game.

Outside of story mode is the multiplayer.  The online and
multiplayer games will feature a new mode, Conquest.
Evolved from siege mode, this mode will now be focused on
nodes. It is your job along with fellow players to take
control of the map by capturing and defending as many
nodes as possible. Also in the multiplayer/online games
there is a new way to gain points. They are somewhat like
skill points and are based on a way you exterminate your
opponents. In example, if you were to kill someone with a
flux rifle you would get a "sharpshooter"  kill which will be
worth 3 points. If you run someone over you would get a
"roadkill" kill which would be worth 2 points. And if you kill
someone with a wrench you would be granted a
"humiliation" kill which would be worth 5 points.

IN CONCLUSION

All this and more, that has not been revealed, only proves
that this game will be the ultimate game for the PS2.
