  • Date             :  March 25th, 2003 from 8:15AM to 9AM
  • Where          : Psychology Department ,The University of Georgia, Athens.
  • Participants  : The four development team members                                                                              [Matthewa,Philipa,Gayathri,Preeda ]and our client Dr. Lillian T.Eby                                    and a technical consultant from Psychology department.
  • Minutes :
The meeting started off with discussing on the following questions: Why the system is needed? , What the system will do? , What tasks will the users seek to perform? and what funtionality should the system provide? Then, Development Team members described on how the interface will look like. That the interface will have options for various question types like "check one", "check all" etc, and the user will have to choose the option. Client pointed out that she wanted the system to be very-user friendly ,as it will mostly be used by naive users. Client gave a list of various question types like check one, check all, comment etc., used in the survery forms. Also, our client wished to have an option for the flow of the survey to be dependent upon responses to certain questions. For example, if a person completing a survey answers "yes" to question #10, then they will automatically skip to question #28.
On discussing about the scope of the project,it was decided that the application would provide an interface, that will build a survery form. The application will create an associated HTML file for each survey form, which can be used to host the survey on the web. If time permits, it was decided that the team will develop a small prototype program that can save the values selected in the survey form onto a MSWord document or an Excel document.
It was agreed that the Computer Science department server was to be used as the Development server for the project and at the completion of the project, all files related to the 'Survey Builder Application' would be handed over to the client Dr. Eby for further development and maintanence.
The meeting came to an end with the scheduling of the next meeting on March 31st from 9:30 am to 10:00am at the same venue. The agenda for the meeting was set,to discuss about the prototype of the user-interface. A sample copy of a paper-based Survey form of the Psychology department was obtained from the client ,to give a better overview while designing the user-interface protype for the next meeting.
