Fairywinks, purveyors of fine Fairywings for children and adults alike, had their own booth at Scarborough this year. Highly recommended! The Lady Rhiannon received a pair for her appearance at the Withrow Renaissance Festival in Huntsville, Arkansas. She made quite a hit in her "Faerie Princess" costume -- other patrons kept wanting to take her picture while she was there!
The White Horse Tavern was a favored watering spot for Rennies and playtrons during the faire. Not only was the cool shade greatly appreciated, but it was the only tavern on site offering pear cider!
The House of Dra is another major attraction for playtrons. Lady Dra creates wond'rous custom costumes which are not only colorful, comfortable and unique, but very durable as well!
Then there's Faire Pair Tights, home of the infamous "bell-bottomed tights"...and the Goddess of Tights, Ginger Burkholder. The sheer variety she offers is awesome, coming in all sizes, colors and patterns. Even if you aren't interested in a pair (yet), you have to stop by and see her leopardskin tights. Simply incredible!!!
Legacy Forge -- Paul Dubro and John Stout, proprietors -- has their home in this turreted shop at Scarborough. They specialize in handcrafted arms and armor, besides being authorized distributors for Starfire Swords, Ltd. Incidentally while we were there, a mockingbird took up residence on the pinnacle of their tower to seranade both patrons and players for a goodly hour or more. Nice touch!
