Iris and Rose did five shows daily at the Ladyhawke Stage on the north side of Scarborough. Their repertoire of bawdy bits, off-color humor and daring ditties always drew a large and appreciative audience to their performances. Lovely lasses, and well-worth catching a show or two of theirs while you're there!
Don't try this at home! Seconds after this picture was taken, this daring young man jumped up, turned around and landed safely on the bowling ball -- while still maintaining his balance and keeping all his flaming torches in motion!!! And that was just the warm-up for the Throw Up Comedy Juggling Show...! Definitely an act to see!!!
The ladies of "Queen Anne's Lace" may seem to be going off in all directions, but they do, in fact, harmonize quite well together! They offer a wide selection of traditional sounds in their performances, ranging from madrigals to early ballads -- with a few naughty bits to keep their shows lively. You'll find them at the Holly Field Stage every day of the faire.
