LOUISIANA RENAISSANCE FESTIVAL 2000
Saturday, 4 November
This octagonal building -- home of Castle Creations -- has to be the most unusual permanent structures at LRF. Rather than build a standard staircase which would block off one side of his booth, the proprietors -- Ron and Brenda Haring -- opted for a bridge, above, with stairway access to their second story behind the fence. One of the side benefits of this layout is a nice bit of cool shade under the bridge, even at noon! Now if there were just a few benches along the fence for weary patrons to rest their feet....
The Tower, as Ron calls it, houses both Ron's Delightful Dangles (Sterling Jewelry) and Brenda's BrenDragons(TM), line of dragon figurines. Ron writes: "I do indeed intend to build benches along the wall for weary husbands while their wives shop. I also intend to dress up the upper story with window boxes and other decorations, but I ran out of time at opening (but hey, I got it built!)."
