Riding at the quintain was the third event on the program. In this case, the quintain was simply a shield mounted on an easel -- not the swinging shield with mace attached normally used to train knights in the fine Art of Jousting! Here, (Photo, Left), Sir Dustin hands a lance to the Squire at the beginning of the event, as the Royal Court looks on.
Sir Jerry charges the quintain, striking a solid blow in the upper-right (Dexter Fess) corner of the shield (Photo, Right).
"Capture the Flag" was the final event of the day. In that event, Sir Dustin and Sir Jerry went stirrup-to-stirrup with swords as Sir Jerry gallantly defended the flag from Sir Dustin's assault (Photo, Right).
The disarming blow: Sir Dustin strikes the sword from Sir Jerry's hand, allowing him to capture the flag and win the event (Photo, Right)! Below: the valiant knights graciously accept the audience's applause at the end of the "Joust For Fun"!
