You may also find yourself encountering Jane, the town fool. She is a person of true mirth and enthusiasm, indeed (Photo, right).
On Sundays, the beguiling and fascinating Troll may make an appearance (Photo, left). Here he closely examines some food left out for him.
Coming to Bristol also afforded me the chance to visit friends. One such friend is Ian MacTavish, Regent Lord of the Clan Iron Wolf (Photo, right). With Berryweiss blade in tow and his love beside him, MacTavish was ready to oversee the annual clan gathering on the day I visited him.
I also got to see my good friends Ed and Debby Justic (Photo, left). Isn't Debby's dress beautiful? It was made by the wonderful MaritaBeth Carruthers who owns "A Wardrobe in Time" and manages the "Pendragon Costume Booth" on site. At the 1997 Bristol Faire Costume Contest, her dress took Second Place in the final judging in her category.
I also got to see Ginger who owns the "Faire Pair". She supplies all my tights! Here she is with her fine assistant, Paul (Photo, right).
Speaking of all this talk of friends, Bristol this year began a new program called "Friends of Faire" (Photo, left). This is a program designed to enhance the faire experience for the patrons. The FOF has it's own space on site that allows its members to rest or mingle. Also offered are lectures to expand knowledge on the period.
