It all started in July 1996 when two brothers decided to start their own club in Kempton Park on the East Rand in South Africa, their names were Sheldon and Neal.

FROM NEAL'S NOTES

"When the club started in 1996 we had 27 members all friends or friends of a friend that enjoyed riding.

Sheldon was Pres at the time and I was PRO.

In November of 1996 the club went through a lot of S**T and a vast number of the members left to start their own clubs, including me, but I joined another club.

In 1997 my family moved to Cape Town, leaving me in Jo'burg. Sheldon approached me to take over as Leader of the East Rand while he ran Cape Town, I accepted and took over the club in Kempton Park.

July 1997 Sheldon called me and offered the title of National to me, I accepted immeadiately and started my campaign to be one of the best clubs on the East Rand.

As the new National I decided that a new look had to be in order, so everyone could see i was serious about the club, I changed the rules, constitution and the colours.

I was out to prove a point and I did. Nobody really knew who the Road Wizards were until I came along. I started going out more and spending time with the new friends I had made.

There were new faces, new bikes and new colours."

Sadly Neal passed away in a car accident in Sept 2002.

Neal's parents Mitch and Annie were members of the Road Wizards and at the passing of their beloved son they met Pete who was dating a friend of theirs, Kerry Anne.

Pete went to a Rally in December 2002 (Poison Rally) with Mitch and Annie and Kerry and Mitch and Annie thought that Pete was a keen biker without a bike and asked if he would like to join and take over as President.

Pete enjoyed the scene so much he accepted and went out a bought a bike (Honda CBR750F)

He then came to his place of work and started recruiting. We at work also had no bikes but were all excited.I (IAN - INXUS) went out and bought a Yamaha XS 11 but it was stuffed and I was very dissapointed.

He also recruited Muzz who owned a Blackbird and we also got Tanya on board who apparently had a bike in Cape Town.

We went to our first Rally in May 2003 (Paradise) and I was hooked.I came home and went and bought a Kawasaki ZX10 and then the fun started.

We changed the colours and made them more hi tech and appealing.

I was given the title of Road Captain and at the time we had 10 members. We did some more recruiting and soon we had 16 members and a few friends that came with for the jols.

I was later promoted to Vice President and took my job seriously and started promoting the Road Wizards where ever I could.

We were becoming one of the well known clubs around as we tried to attend all Biker functions that we could.

Sadly due to personality clashes and other issues members started leaving and by August 2004 Pete said he was out and joined another club.

Mitch and Annie offered me the title of President and I accepted gladly and now I have the great task of building up a club I really love and have the privelage of running.
