War

War

Throughout the ages, there has always been war.  There is always something to fight for.  Much the same, people in TLR can create war as well.  Its just a difference of whether or not you have the money to succeed in it or not.  Because you must have an army, and probably have a piece of land at least.

Once you have land, you should build some kind of keep or castle of some sort to house your troops and such.  There are two ways to gain troops.  The first is just to purchase them.  The second is for recruitment.  Instead of purchasing units and then paying for their upkeep, you could enlist them for free.

The rules of creating buildings and units are self explanatory.  You have money, and you purchase the wood and stone and have it built separately.

Each colony should have their own means of creating wealth and production.  The revenue will be tallied at the end of each week, and thus the upkeep will be subtracted from that.  Whatever is left will be added or subtracted from the grand total.  You must have the gold to purchase the units or you cannot have them.  If at anytime you reach 0 gold supply and you are in a negative week, you will be forced to lose a certain amount of units that reflect the negative upkeep cost.

Battle-

No one builds an army to have it sit around and grow fat.  People build armies to use them.  Most of it is RP and your own personal tactics.  You may set up your units as you please, but if your unit placement is obvious, the one you are creeping towards will be notified.  Certain circumstances may give one army an advantage or another a disadvantage merely from location or the situation.

The only real rule to battle is the damage inflicted.  Each unit has a power level, ranging from 1 to 10.  Even though you may have 1000 units, it does not mean all of them will kill someone.  In fact, the less skill your army has, the less they'll actually do. The power level is to determine that, factoring in accuracy and armor. When rolling for damage, the dice will be: 1d[# of troops x 0.Power Level].  What this means is that a power level of 1, means you will multiply the number of troops by 0.10.  1000 Infantry units attacking will result in a 1d100 roll.  1000 Knights will result in an 1d800 roll.

However, it would not make sense if you rolled a 1. 1000 Men attacking and killed only one unit.  That is why there is also a minimum damage inflicted.  On top of what you roll, there is also 5% of the total # of troops killed.  So that not only would 1000 infantry units kill 1d100 units, but also kill an automatic 50 as well.

That is the basic rule.  There may be changes through high ground, low ground, and such, but that will be determined on site.

One last issue to determine is morale.  Morale is only added if a hero or leader is on the battlefield with the men. For each hero there, the power level of each unit will be raised by one.  Certain pivotal RP items may also add morale points, such as the enemy's banner or totem.
