Shell Island

A favorite place to camp

North
Wales

We have camped on the Island many times although it's not really an island, the only approach is via the tidal causeway, when the tide is low. There is always something happening,  here are some of our memories of this place, the pictures in a blue frame are hyper linked to bigger one's

Chris in his canoe on the inner estuary one evening at high tide

Our camp fire for a BBQ on the beach of the inner lagoon, the mountains and masts of the boats in the inner harbour in the background.

Messing about neat the harbour
These scooters are great for holidays
The long and winding road,
 to the shop
One of the jets which fly over shell island,
Helicopter Coming in, it looked big a long way off'
when it got closer it was huge,

SHELL  ISLAND

On previous visits we have seen Dolphins out in the bay, a big air balloon being tested ,various strange types of aircraft, boats being launched ,run aground, the race back onto the Island by others ("self Included") in the evening before the sea covers the road, best one was a couple in a gyrocopter using the causeway as a runway.  Ill include the pictures when i find them.
