Character Creation

House rules for character creation for the First World game



Check the OpenRPG Forum to see if the game needs any players.



Use the Players Hand Book 3rd Eddition (PHB) to create your character, with the following house rules.

Basic Attributes: No dice rolling is required. You have a total of 83 points to assign to your six attributes simply determine how many points you want for each attribute.
Strength
Intelligence
Wisdom
Dexterity
Constitution
Charisma
No Attribute may be above 18

Races: All PHB races are allowed All race descriptions in the PHB correlate fairly well to my world, except for the Halfling. Halflings are more in line with Tolkien's Hobbits.

Classes: All classes in the PHB are allowed except the monk. Multi-class characters are allowed only with the DM's approval.

Levels and Hit Points: The characters level will be asigned by the DM, based on the current level of the game. All characters receive the maximum allowed hit points for their class at first level (bonuses apply). For each level above first the character receives 1/2 max HP +1 (bonuses apply).

Skills: As per the PHB rules for skills

Feats: As per the PHB rules for feats.

Equipment: The equipment starting pacage for the class can be used or equipment can be purchased from the PHB. Use table 7-1 to determine amount of money available to purchase equipment. For creation purposes use the prices in the PHB. Do not save any money you have left over after purchasing.

Starting Money: The DM will assign starting money based on the character origin.

Origin and background: Develop a background for your character.

Before the first session:

Each player should have a rough idea of his or her players origin and background. Additionaly the player will need a reason why his or her character would join the group.

Get DM approval of your character.

The DM is willing to help with any and all steps in createing the Character
