This is one of my signature dragons, Krysalpirens. I figured out that with the wing structure that most people depicted on dragons the poor beasts would never get off the ground. To solve this problem I decided to design my own style of wings. The first pair act as normal wings, but the second pair provide lift to the hip area, which is the heaviest part of a dragon due to the pelvis and the hind legs, the muscels of which need to be strong enough to launch the dragon into the air from the ground.
This is a variation on a tatoo that I designed for myself, also using a Krysalpiren dragon. I'm not planing to get this variation done though, since the detail would cost mucho bucks.
This is one of my earliest drawings of a Krysalpiren dragon. Notice the lack of horns. My later dragons have horns most of the time. The earlier ones had the ridges on the top of thier heads and the REALLY early dragons have spine ridges down thier neck and back as well as thier head.
