GENERAL GUIDELINES
Use of the Guild Shops is a privilege of membership. Anyone found to be abusing that privilege by selling items requested or requesting excessively without donating may have their privileges revoked.
Each shop has its own rules governing when and how often you may request items. In general you must be an active member of the guild and, of course, be in good standing (ie. no spamming, flaming, advertising, etc), and make donations as you are able.
Each shop has a wishlist of items that it really needs, so check that out before you donate. However, ALL donations are welcome. We know each member gives as he or she is able within their means. Do keep in mind that certain items (like piles of dung) are probably not something the guild shops need in large quantities. ;)
Donations of NP can be made by purchasing one of the various ticky-tack type items (like bottles of sand, sandals, key-rings, etc) stocked in the Donation Shop. All the different shop use the money from these donations to keep up stock, run activities and usually choosing special gift recipients like Supporters of the Month. However, the Council decides how to best use all funds generated for the operation of the guild (prizes for contests, shops, newbie packets, etc.)
Please keep in mind that you no longer need to be a neofriend of any particular shop in order to donate or recieve items from the shop. Most shops do not accept many neofriends to cut down on maintenance. However, if you are new to neopets, you will need to have at least one neofriend to be able to donate. If that is the case, neomail the shop before you submit your neofriend request so they know why you are requesting to be their neofriend.
