Korbat Halloween
One cold wintery night the sky was filled with the sound of flapping wings. The Korbats had arrived...

Re: Korbat Halloween
All over Neopia excited pets were out trick-or-treating. This is a very exciting night! All those lucky enough to have access to the Lab Ray had gone early in the morning, hoping to get changed into something hideous!
Rosie, Lisa, Brenda and Lister had planned a huge party for the Guild of Booklovers in the Guild Library. It was shaping up nicely. Every type of spooky and gross food had been laid out. Brenda had made her special-Spooky Devilled Neggs. Lister was putting the finishing touches on the Bobbing for Eyeballs pool. Rosie was in the basement getting the extra chairs and Lisa was putting the last of the rare books away in the vault.
There were going to be LOADS of guests! Nearly everyone in the guild had promised to come by. They had planned everything down to the smallest detail... Ludi had brought his spooky toilet and it was moaning and snapping at anyone who came near it, a Huge Meowclops Statue was hissing near the entry door and about 30 Walking Books (who had been made up as hideous ghouls), were busy hiding and popping out at unsuspecting passersby.
What they had not prepared for was for the Korbats to come before midnight...

Re: Korbat Halloween
A knock on the door announced the arrival of their first guest.
"Bet it's Stam," Rosie and Lisa said in unison.
"No bet," chuckled Brenda. "I know him enough to know that he's always punctual!"
The door creaked open--the hinges hadn't been oiled since the party had been planned--and the sound of footsteps could be heard.
The four grinned as a series of short shrieks and exclamations announced the introduction of the first of the walking books.
"Oh, very funny!" Stam said from behind the bookshelf as the four shopkeepers and their pets burst into fits of giggles. He stepped out into the cleared area, Puuuurrr close behind him and Jolterion hovering above. All three paused to let the shopkeepers take in their costumes.
Jolterion's normal starry coloring was covered in a black fursuit, and black streamers attached to his wings leant them a ragged look. Puuuurrr was kitted out in enough black items that for a moment the guild members thought that he'd been painted shadow. And Stam...
Stam had the help of Cyan in his horrific costume. His black outfit left the left arm and leg bare, with a floor-length black cape that shrouded his right side. The malleable metal skin of his cybernetic parts had been colored black and reshaped into a series of spikes and thorns that flowed against the natural contours, and the eerie sounds that were echoing from Cyan's speakers completed the unsettling image.
"Wow," Rosie said, looking him up and down. "Really dressing the part, aren't we?"
"Yes," he growled in a deep, menacing voice that was quite unlike his regular tone. "One can but try."
The effect was quite spoiled by Rosie's pets muffling their laughter at the idea of their friendly Uncle Stam sounding so evil. Stam mock-glared at them, which only made them laugh all the harder.
"Gee, thanks, you lot!" Stam said, turning back to the others. "OK, you four still need any help?"

Re: Korbat Halloween
Suddenly there was another knock on the door. Stam walked over and opened the door to revile two pirate looking Eyries and a Scorchio dressed like a baby doll. Behind them loomed a figure with a long purple caftan covered with stars and moons. The figure's hair was long and black with a white stripe running down the right side of it's head. The skin was a pasty light green.
"Welcome dear traveler, do we know you?" Stam asked with a smirk on his face.
Grammy just grinned and walked past him. "Don't spoil my fun, Stam. I only get to dress up once a year. Now what needs to be done to get this party going. Oh, and I brought some Witches Brew punch. Where do you want it?"
At that Eyrianne produced a large punch bowl that had swirls of smoke emitting from it. Floating in the bowl could be seen eyeballs, leeches, and grubs.
Rosie pointed to the table at the back of the Library where the rest of the food was set out. "Grammy, I must say that you are looking gorgeous tonight."
"Thank you. Anyone else here yet? It looks like it might storm. Wouldn't that be perfect for the party?"
Soon the members of the Booklovers Guild and their pets came trickling in. The variety of costume were amazing. You could tell who had put a lot of thought into theirs.

RE: Korbat Halloween
Brainiac hopped through the door dressed as Count Von Roo, followed by; Fiona, who hated scary, dressed in her angel costume all gold and white, Brigid, dressed as Disney's Dumbo but staying very close to Pistachio as she still had trouble remembering who everyone was, and mhaire dressed as a belly dancing blue uni.
Stam approached Pistachio, sporting his best evil grin. "What, pray tell, are you supposed to be?"
Pistachio stood before him dressed in a dowdy tweed suit, her flaming red hair pulled up into a tight bun, ancient spectacles perched on her freckled nose, an alarmingly large book labeled simply 'RULES' in the crook of her left arm, and a huge ruler in her right hand, looked up at him from her 5' stature, grinned at the menacing tone in his voice, and replied "I am (pause for dramatic effect) . . . . . The Monitor!" Lightening crashed at that particular moment providing terrific effect.

GRAND PRIZE WINNING ENTRY
Rosie changes
More and more guests arrived. Nobody noticed that Rosie had quietly slipped out of the library. The Library door was propped open. A terrible clatter arose from outside on the library steps. It sounded like two metal trash cans dancing with a rolling pin.
Tessa came charging through the library door, fully decked out in Ixi battle gear, tripped over her own sword and fell on her shield!
Grammy went to her and helped the young Ixi back to her hooves. "Where is the rest of your family Tessa?"
Tessa pulled up her visor, "They are coming behind me...I was so excited I had to run!"
"Well dear, you look like quite the Ixi battle heroine!"
Tessa happily clopped off to visit Jolterion and marvel at his spooky costume. Rosie, Ludi, Cm and Cy all came in as a group.
Cy was really playing the part of being a Halloween Aisha. She had a Halloween Fork, was wearing the Aisha cape and had fashioned a smoking red necklace of Aisha fizzbombs. She swept off to look at all the wonderful costumes.
Rosie, Cm and Ludi were all dressed in business suits and were carrying briefcases. They all looked very serious. An uncomfortable hush fell over the group as they pondered the rather uninspired costumes. Cm was desperately trying not to laugh.
*Ok!* Stam signed, *Rosie, we don't get it...what are you three? Male models? Pierre Cardin suit displays? What?*
Cm burst out laughing. Ludi and Rosie still looked quite grave. Ludi cleared his throat and stepped forward with his black briefcase.
"No Uncle Stam ... that is not it. Now, Halloween is supposed to be scary, right?" Everyone nodded in agreement. "Well we are the three scariest people in Neopia tonight!"
Ludi grinned as puzzled looks were exchanged "Mom is an IRS agent, she needs to talk to all of you ... hope you brought your W2's (Rosie got out a little calculator and a stack of forms out of her briefcase) ... Cm wants to talk to everyone about her new religion--The Mighty Chocolate Parsnip (Cm produced a large stack of pamphlets and put on her best fake smile) and I am a door-to-door Insurance Salesman for Poogle Premium ... can we sit down and talk about your life insurance coverage?"
The room erupted in laughter as Stam screamed "NOOOOOOOOOO!!!"

Re: Rosie changes
Grammy was laughing so hard at Ludi's explanation of their costumes that she was literally rolling on the floor, holding her sides.
"Could someone help Grammy up off the floor before she hurts herself?" Brenda asked between her own fits of laughter.
More and more guild members with their pets arrived. Soon the library was packed. Pets were bobbing for eyeballs, doing cake walks, throwing darts at Dr. Sloth, getting their faces painted and a multitude of other games. Guild Members were milling around talking with a few dancing in the center of the room. Brenda was covering the whole room handing out candy from her magical never ending pocket.
Just as the Spookiest Dance Contest which Puuuurrr and Cy won ended, a loud clap of thunder shook the whole building. Then suddenly the electricity went out.
Luckily Lisa and Rosie had thought ahead and had candles place all around the room. Gradually the flicker of candlelight caste eerie shadows on the walls. It was then that everyone noticed the new arrivals. Hanging from every available space were what seemed like hundreds of silky black Korbats...

"Great effect, guys!" Stam whispered to Rosie and Lisa, who were standing nearby.
"Um...thanks, but this wasn't part of our planning!" Lisa whispered back. "Unless Rosie arranged this as a surprise, along with her group's costumes?"
*Nope, wasn't me*, Rosie signed back, her fingers showing up surprisingly well due to the glow-in-the-dark paint she had been using earlier.
A hush fell over the group as everyone took stock of the situation and waited for someone to provide a cue as to how to react.

Re: Rosie changes
Suddenly there was a flash of lightning that outlined a huge Korbat standing in the doorway. Starrquahn let out a gasp.
"Mommy, look at his EARS! They are the biggest ones I have ever seen."
"Shush now", whispered Lister. "That isn't polite. But you are right--I have never seen a Korbat with ears like that."
Just then all the Korbats flew down the floor and formed two straight lines on either side of the newcomer, parting the guests and making an aisle which he proceeded to slowly walk down as he spoke.
"Good evening", the mysterious and odd-looking Korbat said, sounding just like Count Dracula and giving everyone a sudden chill.
"You are quite right, young neopet, my ears are very large for an ordinary Korbat, but you see I am far from ordinary. I was made a mutant Korbat by use of Dr. Sloth's Korbat Transmogrification potion." There were more gasps at the mention of the mad scientist's name. But the Mutant Korbat continued, "Let me introduce myself. My name is Screech and I am the caretaker of Korbat's Lab in the Haunted Woods."
Since Lister now happened to be standing closest to Screech, she stuck out her hand and said, "Hi. I'm Lister. Glad to meet you. These are my pets, Grundy, Quiggly, and Starrquahn. We are having a party. You are welcome to stay, or did you come here for another reason?"
"Thank you. But you are quite right, I did come here for a reason. You see I need the help of the famed GOBL detectives!"

Re: Rosie changes
The room filled with the sound of a huge collective sigh of relief. Stam stepped forward.
"You have come to the right place. Please come with us into the study where we can give this matter our full attention," he said, leading the way into the study.
Screech signaled his entourage to wait in the library and followed Stam. The rest of the detectives filed in behind him, eager for a new case.
Rosie turns to the rest of the guild revelers and said, "Don't worry, folks. We have it under control. Please return to your merrymaking." She turned the music back on and smiled reassuringly. Then she entered the study and closed the door firmly behind her.
The study was quite packed. Stam made his way to the desk and sat down. He motioned for Screech to take a seat. The rest of the group had to remain standing, but they didn't mind--they were waiting impatiently for the juicy details. Stam leans back in his chair, steeples his fingers and asks, "What can we do for you Screech?"
Screech hesitated, looking around at the sea of faces. Ludi fidgeted and Rosie signed, *Be still!*
Finally Screech took a deep breath, as if marshalling his thoughts, looked Stam straight in the eye and said: "Creepy, my spyder petpet is missing."

The Hunt Begins
"Well, Mr Screech, where was the last place you saw Creepy? And are you sure he's not just playing hide and seek?" Stam asked with a grin on his face, thinking This should be an easy one for us.
"I know that Creepy is missing because I received this note." Screech replied as he pulled a note out of his pocket.
Screech,
We have your beloved Creepy. He will not be returned until you deliver the Fake Von Roo Fangs. We will contact you as to where to deliver them. You have until midnight on All Saints Day...

Re: The Hunt Begins
The grin evaporated off Stam's face like water in a blast furnace.
"A ransom note." he grated out.
"Yes," Screech said. "The Fake Von Roo Fangs have been in my family for generations, and are impossible to obtain anywhere in Neopia. Someone must want them very badly indeed."
"Do you have any idea who that might be?" Stam asked, leaning forward now. "Anyone who tried to buy them off you, or even appeared interested in them?"
"Or old enemies of the family, maybe?" Lisa chipped in.
The mutant korbat was silent for a moment. "None that I can think of, I'm afraid." Stam, Cyan said, speaking to him mentally, You're not going to like this, but...
But what? Stam asked, his face not showing any sign of what he was thinking as he looked steadily at Screech. He's lying, Stam.

Re: The Hunt Begins
The members of the guild continued excitedly question the Korbat and form possible theories. Stam did not let on at all about what Cyan had told him.
He suddenly felt a slight nudge on his left leg. He glanced down and saw Tommie, Rosie's robot Aisha, at his feet. He was not much more than a kitten and worshiped his mechanical Uncle Stam. He smiled and his tail gave a tiny lightening zap on Stam's shin.
RAMpuss--Tommie's robot Angelpuss--bleeped happily, fired his thrusters and floated up to Stam's lap. He plugged one of his whiskers into Stam's arm to form an information link. Processing ... link established...Greetings Stam hybrid and Cyan cybernetic device. RAMpuss query: Is analysis of Korbat warranted?
Stam knew RAMpuss was excellent at analysis (his tiny green halo worked something like a radar, MRI and mass spectrum analysis all merged together) but needed to be careful. So Cyan ... what do you think? You want further information on our guest?
#10
Re: The Hunt Begins
RAMpuss's analysis shows that this Screech guy is wanted for two cases of kidnap. Cyan relayed the report to Stam. Kidnap!? Of who? Stam peered into the korbat's eyes. He tuned out Screech's story, Stam didn't want to listen to the story of a liar.
RAMpuss searched harder through the Defenders of Neopia's database until he finally found what he was looking for. Stam's pupils suddenly grew larger when RAMpuss told of what him had found. It turns out that the kidnapping was of a member of the guild and his pet! Oh my, Ryguy and Snowball are the victims! And to make things worse, they still haven't been found.
Stam's emotions soon turned from betrayal to anger. He wasn't going to let some good-for-nothing criminal kidnap his friends and get away with it.
"So Screech, how about we go looking for Creepy..." Stam had an idea.

Re: The Hunt Begins
Grammy had been in the back all this time simply observing but now it was time for action. She put a hand on Stam's arm and with warning in her voice said, "Stam".
Stam fiercely whispered back, "You don't KNOW!"
"No Stam, I do know", Grammy said gently.
Stam knew Grammy well enough to know she must know something else too, something important. He needed to get her alone so they could talk so he turned to the assembled group and said, "Screech, why don't you fly on ahead back to the lab and we will meet you there? Everyone, let's make our way to the lab, time is not on our side!"
Grammy and Stam hung back until everyone had filed out of the room.
"Ok Grammy, what's up?"
"Well, Screech may not be telling the truth, but it isn't his fault. I detect an outside force at work here that seems to be controlling him and Ryguy."
"Ryguy?!"
"Yes, that story about Ryguy just didn't ring true so I contacted Snowball and he said that they are warm and happy and just fine!"
"What about Screech being a kidnapper himself previously?"
"I don't know, but if he was there would be police reports and news stories. Lister is very good at finding out information like that. I suggest you leave her behind to start digging and find the rest of the story for us about that while the rest of us go on with the investigation. Carefully!"
"Good idea. Can you send a message to Lister and have her start right away?"
"Already did", laughed Grammy.

Re: The Hunt Begins
"Stam, there's one more thing. He's not really what he seems. I can't put my finger on it . But besides lying and the outside force controlling him, something else is not right." Grammy continued. " He's not upset or worried about creepy. In fact he seems overjoyed."
"Now that is strange. Let me know if you pick up on anything else. Shall we join the others?"
With that Grammy and Stam left to travel with the others to the Korbat Lab. Lister passed them on her way back to the Library, waved and shouted she'd be with them soon. That was a good touch just in case someone was watching. Stam, you must tell Lister this later, Cyan related. Will do!
The weather got worst as the group approached the Lab. The full moon was completely covered by clouds, lightning flashed every couple of seconds and the thunder was deafening. They could see all the smaller silky black Korbats circling the Lab. But there was a strange eerie glow coming from the building.

Re: The Hunt Begins
Meanwhile, Lister headed back into the library. She carefully wove her way through the carefree revelers. Her goal was one of the library's more isolated computer stations where she could work in peace. Her mind was already planning where and in what order to search for information.
She slid easily into a chair and began deftly manipulating the computer keys. She quickly became engrossed in her search. Text and images flashed before her eyes as she mumbled to herself. She was completely immersed in her element.
She was finding tantalizing bits that didn't seem to quite fit together. Suddenly she found something. This was it. This was the missing piece of the puzzle. She has to get to Stam and the others quickly. They mustn't enter the lab.
The lightning flashed outside and her world went black.
No one had seen the shadowy figure creeping silently through the night to the library window. No one saw the subtle manipulations he made to disable the alarm system and open the window. No one saw him crawl threough the window and emerge a few moments later carrying a limp human form. No one saw him vanish with his victim back into the night. And more importantly, no one would be able to warn Stam and the others...

The Strange, Sinister Speaker...
Lister came back to groggy consciousness in time to hear a deep, creaky voice say:
"Put her in one of the basement cells. I've got some ... invited guests to deal with..."
She was carted down several flights of stairs. A rusty iron door shrieked its protest against opening, and then she was dumped on something soft. Ouch! Well, slightly soft, anyway.
Footsteps receding told her that whoever-it-was didn't think she was conscious. Your first mistake, mister! she thought savagely as she began working at her bonds...
in the meantime, Stam and the rest of the GOBD had arrived with Screech outside the lab.
"OK, Screech, now wh-" Stam began.
"I must go!" the mutant korbat suddenly said, cutting him off. "My Master calls!"
He unfurled his wings and prepared to take off...

Stam reached out with his robotic arm and grabbed the giant Korbat by the neck. "Oh no you don't. You're staying with us."
The smaller silky black Korbats, seeing their leader in trouble, started to swarm and dive bomb the group.
"Call them off or you won't have to worry about your missing Creepy or the Von Roo Fangs." Stam said menacing as he squeezed the giant Korbats neck.
Screech sent out a loud ear-piercing sound. The smaller Korbats retreated to the roof of the tall tower. As the last one landed on the roof, Stam eased his grip on Screech's neck.
"Stam, something's not right here." Grammy whispered.
"Lister is here. Someone knocked her out and brought her here."
Lisa walked up to Grammy and Stam, "OK, what's going on?"

SECOND PLACE WINNING ENTRY
Re: The Strange, Sinister Speaker...
Lister's bonds were tight, but not tight enough. After several minutes of struggling and cursing, she finally freed herself from her bonds. She got up gingerly and surveyed the situation.
She was alone. That's good, she thought.
She was in a small cell with no windows and a stout wooden door. The room was very dimly lit by the light coming in under the door. The floor was covered with what appeared to be straw. How medieval, she thought.
She checked the door. Of course it was locked.
"Hmmm, now what," She muttered. She paced the room trying to figure out a way out of this mess. She had to get to Stam and the others and warn them not to go into the lab.
"Which is probably where I am now, " she muttered ironically. She felt around in the straw, but found nothing. She checked her pockets. There wasn't much there. She hadn't expected being kidnapped, after all.
Suddenly a shadow under the door caught her eye. Someone must be out there. She raced to the door and listened. She could hear nothing.
"Hello," she called softly. There was no answer.
She stepped back and looked again at the bottom of the door. The shadow was still there. Who was out there and what was their purpose? Were they checking up on her. Did they even know she was in here? Was it a guard? Frustration welled up in her.
She went to the door and pounded on it. "Let me out!" she shouted. No response.
She grabbed the door, intending to rattle it off its hinges, and to her surprise it swung open!
She stood for a moment, stunned. Beyond the doorway was a shadowy empty hall. Well, almost empty. On the floor in front of the door lay a heap of material.
She peered both directions and saw no one. Carefully she reached out and picked up the material. It turned out to be a rather realistic Korbat Costume!
"Where did this come from?" she wondered to herself. She quickly slipped it on. Now which direction should she go? She finally decided right. Quietly she closed the cell door behind her and headed cautiously down the hall.
Behind her in the shadows a face smiled. Good girl. You just might make it out of this alive, the shadowy figure thought. Now run along and warn your friends.

Re: The Strange, Sinister Speaker...
Lister crept down the dark hall. Tiny drops of water hit the floor, making an echoing noise run through the passage. She knew something strange was going on from the moment that korbat came to the party, and it was most likely him behind all of this. Now which way? Lister thought as she came upon yet another fork in the road. But before she could make her decision, she heard a loud thud from behind her.
She quickly turned around to find nothing. This is giving me the creeps.
But just as Lister was about to turn down the hallway, a shadow-like figure caught her eye.
"I know someone is here," Lister calmly approached the location where she saw the figure. "Just come out and show yourself."
Then from out of the shadows, a creature jumped onto her...

Re: The Strange, Sinister Speaker...
Lister easily knocked her attacker off and sat on it. Looking down, she saw a giant Korbat.
"Aren't you Screech?" she asked.
"Yes, but how do you know who I am?" he answered.
"Don't you remember coming to the GOBD to help you get your petpet, Creepy, back?"
"That wasn't me--I've been locked down here in the sub-basement for nearly a month now. I have no idea what's going on."
"Well now, that puts a whole nother aspect to this thing. That's why your records have change so much in the last month. Do you know who put us down here?"
"No! But if I ever get out of here, they'll wish they'd never set eyes on me."
Outside the GOBD gathered around Stam and Grammy trying to deside what their next move should be. Screech was antsy and constantly looked up into the sky as if something would swoop down and get him. Grammy could feel his edginess so all her senses were on alert.
Grammy moved away from the group, hoping she could pick up something from Lister. But what she was getting was so confusing that she wasn't sure she was receiving it correctly.
"Stam, Lister is in the sub-basement with Screech." Grammy stated, just before she collapsed...

Re: The Strange, Sinister Speaker...
The whole group ran over and surrounded Grammy. She was passed out on the floor, with sweat running down her forehead. Stam picked her up and propped her against the wall.
"What happened?" Lisa questioned as Stam went over to the punch bowl and splashed some water on her face.
"She just passed out. She'll be okay." Stam said.
"What did she say about Lister? Something about the basement?" Brenda aksed as Grammy made some discomforting sounds.
Just then, Stam remembered about Screech. The over-sized korbat was just trying to escape with all of the rest of his little bat friends.
"Oh no you don't! You're not going anywhere."
"Okay, so the Screech upstairs isn't really Screech? Then who is he?"
Lister and Screech carefully walked down the hall, turning around at every slight sound.
"Well, I'm not too sure who exactly he is, but from what I've heard, there is supposedly a mutant Ixi that is able to take any form that he wants. But that was months ago and I thought that he was captured." Screech said.
"So this imposter is some crook who is just after the Fake Von Roo Fangs for himself? How cruel!" Lister was determined to stop this menace.

While the GOBD was gathered around Grammy, mhaire suddenly gasped. Several people turned to see what was wrong. mhaire was standing very still, eyes wide open but unseeing. Just as quickly as it had begun it ended, and mhaire was herself once again.
"What did you see?" queried Pistachio.
"I saw Lister at the computer, you know, the one she likes well away from all the others. Then a shadowed figure hit her over the head and carried her away. To a basement, or cave? Then when she woke up, she, forced? no - opened a door and found some sort of clothing. It's a costume. A korbat costume. Then she started talking with a large korbat. An enemy? NO!! NO!! It's Screech. She's with the real Screech. This one is an imposter."
Several people gasped and turned to look at the Korbat.
Pistachio raised her arms and a bright blue light sprang from her fingertips, forcing the korbat to morph into his real shape. A mutant Ixi...

Re: Re: The Strange, Sinister Speaker...
The Ixi was horrible looking. Giant fangs and over-grown hooves were the predominant features of the beast. The crowd was shocked to see the true identity.
"Well, well, well." The Ixi glanced around at every member and shot a sinister glare at each one. "Bravo, I must give you a round of applause for solving this case. Not even the Neopian Defenders could find me. But what gave it away? It was the ears, wasn't it? I always have a hard time morphing into a Korbat." The monster trotted around the room. The only noise that could be heard was the tapping of the Ixi's hooves.
"Who are you and what do you want?" Stam was getting frustrated with the Ixi.
"My name is Morpheus and I guess that you are too dumb to figure out what I wanted." Morpheus got right up into Stam's face. "I was trying to get down into the basement in search of the rare treasure that lays beneath the cement. I can't believe that you haven't heard of it before. I mean somebody of your intelligence-" Morpheus' eyes locked with Grammy's, "-should known about it for years. Oh well, I guess that the treasure won't do you any good now, seeing that you won't make it out of the lab alive!!"

There was a small metallic click, followed by a strangling noise from the mutant Ixi as Stam's left hand closed around his throat and hauled him back into the air.
"Big man, making threats when you're a foot off the ground," he said conversationally. "Your first mistake was coming too close to me. Your second was forgetting about the first!"
"OK, Morpheus or whoever you are," Pistachio said, glaring at the mutant Ixi, "what kind of trap is supposed to take all of us out?"

Lisa spoke up. "Um, Stam, if we want him to tell us anything, you might need to loosen your grip just a bit...."
It was hard to tell with Morpheus's deformed face, but the Ixi did seem to be getting a bit purple.
Reluctantly, Stam eased up, but not much.
"Yes, do tell us all about your plans," he muttered, "since you're so clever that we couldn't possibly guess!"
"I'm...not...telling...you...anything!" Morpheus gasped out.
"It's okay, everyone," Grammy said. "He's got some kind of booby trap in place around the exits to the building--not actually at the exit but near them.... And I think I know how we can defeat the traps. But maybe we should find out more about this treasure before we are in a hurry to leave. I sense that there is something he desperately desires, and it's not in the basement!"
