Script is a fundraiser designed to help raise money for your students account. The funds accumulated in the student's account can be used for paying orchestra fees or trip fees (if we get to go on a trip this year) and the funds in the account are carried over year to year. Script is a program that allows the purchaser to buy gift certificates for their favorite stores and in return, the stores donate a percent of the gift certificate purchased back to the student's account. For example, my mother purchases domino's pizza script for five dollars a gift certificate. When I go to domino's to order a pizza, I pay with the domino's script just as I would pay with cash. The only plus to using domino's script is that for every five dollar gift certificate my mother purchases, my student account recieves 4% of the purchases. (So, if she purchased one $5 gift certificate, my student account would be credited with 20 cents, but if she purchased five $5 gift certificates, my student account would be credited with one dollar. Not all script gets the same percentage return though, here is a list of stores that participate in the script program (here). If you would like to order script, bring the order form (found in the band boosters newsletter sent home in the mail) in to Mr. H. Script is ordered on or near the 5th and 20th of every month, and orders will be handed out in class or on monday night rehersals shortly after the order date. If you do not currently recieve the band boosters newsletter, please talk to Mr. Horimoto and he can put you on the list to recieve it.
