The story The Door in the Lake is a story about a young boy, named Joey Finney, who disappears for two years and mysteriously returns with no trace of age. He goes through many conflicts with his friends and family, as he tries to adjust to all the changes in his life. Meanwhile, he meets up with two college students who think they who what happened to him. Finally, in the end, they discover aliens who admit to abducting him at a lonely lake. They take him onto their spaceship and fix what they have done. In the end, Joey wakes up and finds himself with his family the way he was two years ago, before his disappearance.

I think this is an excellent book, and I am not sure why it has not received any awards. I really encourage people to take a look at this novel, especially those who do not really like very long stories, because this book is only about 150 pages long.
