Uh-oh. It seems that something has managed to infiltrate our site. Something very... disturbing. And that something
is... a page of contests! The horror!
Don't you dare procrastinate. We are the Ultimate Beings and we shall know of it. We see all. We know all. No one can escape our wrath. *ahem* Oh yes, and the deadline for entering the below contests is April 30; the entries will be published in the May issue of Splattered Ink. Looking forward to judging your work!
A Beckoning LightSometimes, an aritst's work can so touch the soul that his/her art can never be forgotten. The artist Jonathon Earl Bowser is such a master, and his paintings have inspired people from every sector of cyberspace. In fact, his landscapes and protraits are the stuff of raw creation, without a flaw to be imagined. It had to come sometime, so just succumb to the inevitable.See the piece above? Your duty: write something about it in any form you like. It could be about the light, the woman, the trees in the background... anything, as long as the inspiration comes from here. Pieces go to contests@writersink.org.
They Laughed When I Howled at the Moon Time to let loose and change perspective: ordinary is out of style. See, your character lives a lovely life in a nice location. Ideal? ...not exactly. The problem: our protagonist is insane. Perhaps it's of the 'drooling-and-screaming' variety, or something a bit more subtle. Maybe no one even knows about this unsettling affliction. Whichever way you write about it, we want to see. So write about this lunatic and send the results to contests@writersink.org.
Climbing Up That Velvet Rope... We admit it. We're a very small organization. Do we want to get bigger? Well, yes, kind of… sort of… very much so. For that, we need your help. Design a banner that some kind souls can use to link to us, and make it all nice and pretty. You know, something the average person would want to put in their links section or elsewhere. We'll probably use every one, but the creator of the best graphic will receive an "I Preserved Cathay's Sanity" award… or maybe for being a "Knight of the Words"… well. It depends on what it actually looks like. Give us a look-see at contests@writersink.org. |
