Welcome to our vacation album. Charles and I had decided to go and see our oldest grandson graduate from high school but, leaving the four grandchildren we have here in Texas just was not going to happen. They wanted to go see their cousins too. So, on May 23, 2003, we took off and headed for California with all four grandchildren in the car with us.
What an adventure we had!!
First off, we got chased out of Texas due to storms up in Amarillo. We were going to try and hang around there for awhile and meet a Willingham cousin, but the storms were fixing to get bad, and Charles wanted to get us out of there. So, we headed for New Mexico, and were those kids ever glad to get out of Texas. It's not that they don't like Texas, it was just that they were in such a hurry to get to California, they felt like it was taking forever to get out of Texas.
So finally we get to Gallup, N.M. and meet cousin Jessie. We visited for a short time, ordered some pizza, tried to get everyone to sleep, or at least lay down and rest. Then we were off to the Grand Canyon, among other things.

We even stopped to smell the flowers.
Grand Canyon Visit
This place gave me such a funny feeling in my stomach when I first walked up to the side. I was telling the kids to stay back and not get close, then I saw how everyone was around the fences and relaxed a little. Only problem turned out to be that it was so hot, the kids were ready to go before Charles or I said a word about going. I was thinking it, but had not said a word, when they chimed in and explained that they were ready to hit the road again.

Finally We Get To California
These are our grandchildren that live in California. We are very proud of all three. Robert is our oldest, that means he was the first, so you know what that means! No, we did not spoil him at all. Just ask his dad.
