Honey came to us at the age of eight weeks from John Martinelli in Pittsburgh, PA. By nine weeks of age, she had learned basic obedience and was retrieving onland and water. Honey continued to make progress and received her Junior Hunter Title at 15 months and went on to earn her Senior Hunter title at Madison Retriever Club on September 1, 2002. Following this litter, Honey will return to training and pursue her Master Hunter Title. In fall, Honey takes time off from training and accompanies us to the pheasant field and duck blind. Honey comes from a strong pedigree where both her sire and dam are Master Hunters. Her sire, Emberain’s Better Believe It***MH, was Qualified all Age and was a few points away from his Field Championship before his retirement from field trials and hunt tests. Honey’s grandmother, Splashdown Emberain Aurbrey, was a Qualified All Age Master Hunter bitch that was the first golden retriever in the breed’s history to a earn a UD title. Honey is the product of a line breeding to FC AFC Tangelo’s Sidekick, a multiple National qualifier and one of the top ten All Age high point field trial golden retrievers. Siblings to Honey are Master Hunters. Honey has produced one litter that contained only one pup. This pup is currently a Junior Hunter and has just titled in Seniors. Chip is currently running Master Hunt Tests as a two-year-old. Honey is a solid marking dog that runs her blinds as fast as her marks and excels in water. She handles pressure well and does not hold a grudge after being corrected. She is very compliant and will allow young children to handle her. Honey has impeccable house manners and is capable of adjusting from working in the field to being a fireside companion. Honey has tons of drive and is willing to do anything asked of her. With the exception of having force fetch done by a professional retriever trainer, Honey has been amateur trained and handled. Honey has the stereotypical Golden Retriever personality. Her name originated from her sweet and loving nature. She is very intelligent and has a strong will to please. Honey weighs in at 62 pounds with a gold flat coat and lighter feathering. She is healthy, has Good conformation, and a correct bite.
