CHAPTER 4

Chapter 4

Nick stood outside Emily's room, waiting for the doctor to get done with her. The doctor opened the door and before Nick could jump into it, he stopped him.

"Let's talk" The doctor declared. Nick nodded. "You can't expect everything to be 100% with you two...It's going to be weird for awhile...I just want to make sure your up for it"

"I love her" Nick replied. He smiled.

"Good" The doctor replied. "I'm realeasing her tomorrow-is that OK with you?"

"Tomorrow's not good at all...I have like 3 interviews and crap...I guess I could send someone over to get her though" Nick replied. The doctor nodded. He put his hand on Nick's shoulder and left.

"Hey You" Nick exclaimed. Emily looked up and smiled. She'd been thinking a lot about her 'situation' and decided that if she used the right moves...she could actually pull it off.

"Hey Nick" Emily replied. He walked over and jumped on her bed. Emily laughed and stared at him.

"I have great news...You'll be outta this place and back with me by tomorrow" Nick exclaimed. "But I have a question for you...Would you rather go home with Leighanne to Georgia for a week until our tour is over...Or stay on tour with us?"

"I really don't think I'm up for screams and loud music" Emily replied. "But I wanna stay and watch the tour"

"You've only seen it like 100 times" Nick joked. Emily shrugged, trying to think of a quick cover-up.

"Yea...But I mean...I wanna spend time with you" Emily replied.

"How about....Tomorrow you and Leighanne spend the day shopping and stuff and then tomorrow night...at the concert-you can see how it is and if it's too much...You can go to Georgia" Nick explained. Emily gave him a big smile.

"Your the best" Emily replied. Nick grabbed her hand and squeezed it.

"Anything for you Tiff" Nick replied. He leaned over and kissed her. A nurse walked in, telling him to leave. He followed the nurse out of the room, pausing at the door and waving g'bye to Emily. She waved back. She had gotten way too snug in her role as Tiffany....but it felt right...and that was all that mattered.

"Hey Sunshine" A southern accent exclaimed. Emily opened her eyes, seeing a blonde woman standing in front of her. Since Nick said someone named Leighanne would be picking her up, she guessed this was her. Emily smiled.

"Hey Leighanne" Emily replied. She smiled.

"I'm so happy your OK Tiff...We all were so worried..Now I packed some clothes and stuff...Now the doctor said we could take that white gauze off from around your head..." Leighanne stared, bending over. Emily placed her hand on her head.

"I think I better leave it on for awhile..." Emilyn replied. Leighanne laughed.

"Whatever Girl" She replied. She helped Emily out of bed, then left, leaving some clothes on the bed for her to change into. Emily looked at herself in the mirror. She walked around the room, looking through the hundreds of flowers that lined her room. She grabbed one that had a huge card, remembering a picture of Tiffany and someone inside. She opened it quick, not bothering to read it. She walked back over to the mirror and put the picture up to her face.

"Shit" Emily exclaimed, taking a deep breath. The resemblence was scary. You would've thought the two of them had been sisters. Emily sighed. The only difference was that Tiffany had blonde hair, while she had brown. Emily bit her lip...If she could convince Leighanne to leave her alone...she could probably get to hair stylist-There were millions in New York City. She nodded and went to the bed, pulling on the clothes, smiling when they fit. She took a quick look at herself in the mirror, making sure the gauze around her head was still tight and not showing her brown hair. She smiled, then opened the door, finding Leighanne waiting for her.

"That was good" Emily exclaimed. Leighanne eyed Emily.

"Tiffany...You just ate 2 hamburgers" Leighanne exclaimed. Emily stared at her.

"So?" She asked.

"Girl...The last time I talked to you, you were like 100% vegetarian" Leighanne replied.

"Well, in the hospital they fed me meat ya know, to keep me healthy and I guess I got the taste for it again" Emily replied. Leighanne nodded.

"I remember when Brian was in the hospital for heart surgery, he ate all his lima beans when he used to swear against them...I guess tramatic experiences change you" Leighanne explained. Emily smiled. "So...You wanna go shopping or go back to the hotel?"

Emily pretended to yawn. "I'm pretty sleepy"

"That's OK...I gotta run some errands anyway...So..How about I drop you off at the hotel with Mark, my security guard, and you can take a quick nap?" Leighanne asked. Emily nodded.

"But don't you need your security guard?" She asked. Leighanne laughed.

"The hotel is MOBBED with people...And YOU are in a lot more danger than I am" Leighanne replied. "YOu know, after Bri and I got married people have calmed down, but since your dating Nick...You always have to watch your back" Leighanne explained. Emily gave her a half-smile and nodded.

Emily was lying in what she guessed was Nick's room. There was a Playstation 2 hooked up to a big screen in the hotel room. The guys had a whole floor to themselves. When she had walked in, she almost fainted. It was bigger than her parent's house...It was shocking. After like a half-an-hour she got up, moving quickly towards the door. Leighanne's security gaurd, Mark, was wtaching some football game on TV, so she had no problem ditching him. She closed the door quietly, then made her way down the back stairs. She snuck out the back of the hotel, not believing no one noticed a 20-year old with white guaze wrapped around her head sneaking out the back. She waited til' she was like 3 blocks away until she unwrapped the guaze. It seemed she had only a small cut on the back of her head since there wasn't any nasty blood or bumps anywhere. She ran into the nearest hair cutting place.

"Hello?" A chubby woman asked.

"I was wondering if I could get my hair dyed blonde?" Emily asked. She smiled.

"Your my first customer since the terroist attack...I'd be honored to dye it" The lady joked. Emily smiled, walking towards a chair near the back. She put her hair into some rinse, under a sink. When the water hit her scalp, Emily smiled. It felt so good to get her hair washed.

"Did you hurt your head hon?" The woman asked.

"Yea...I was standing outside when the the trade centers came down...I got hit with debry" Emily lied. The lady smiled.

"You have a nasty cut back here. I'll put something on it so the dye doesn't irratate it" She replied. Emily smiled and leaned back, feeling everything come into place.

Emily ran up the back stairs. She had been gone for about 2 hours. She hadn't expected it to take so long. She had blown her last 70 dollars on the dying her hair. It had been in Tiffany's purse, which was now HER purse. She felt kinda guilty, taking a dead person's money and all, but it soon left her when she looked at herself in the mirror. She looked the spitting image of Tiffany. Emily opened the door, closing it quietly.

"Where have you been?" Nick yelled. Emily jumped like 5 feet in the air. She turned around to see all the guys and Leighanne, plus some other people she had never seen, sitting staring at her.

"I went to get that stupid bandage off" Emily lied. Nick stared at her.

"You scared me so bad...I thought maybe you wondered off and then you didn't know how to get back..." Nick muttered. He walked over, giving her a big hug. He smelled her hair.

"Did you take a shower?" Nick asked.

"Yep" She lied once again. He smiled at her, cupping her chin with his hand.

"Your so strong...Your so beautiful...I love you Tiffany" Nick exclaimed. She lost her smile, He hadn't said her name, he had said her name. Emily smiled. She had NO idea what she was doing...but no that she'd gotten herself into this mess...she decided she might as well get something OUT of it.
