SEPTEMBER 11th, 2001:
Tiffany Lex walked into the World Trade Center with a smile on her face. She was 21 years old and in her mind, set for life. She was dating well-known superstar Nick Carter. They had been dating for about 5 months and were in love. Sure, she hated sharing him with millions of fans and HATED that fact that she didn't get to see him everyday, but once she got that ring on her finger, it would all be worth it, the millions of course. The guys were currently on tour and she was visiting the World Trade Center, she'd never been there before and since it was open and Nick was off doing interviews, she decided to go. A lady stopped her, professing her love for Kevin. Tiffany laughed at her and rolled her eyes, heading towards the bathroom.
Emily Hoff bent over the toilet, wanting to get her tampon out of her purse before she sat down. When she opened her purse up, the tampon fell out, falling into the toliet.
"FUCK!" Emily screamed. This wasn't her day. The night before her boyfriend had dumped her, when she got to work her boss fired her, and now this. Emily walked out of her stall with $.50 and placed it into the famine napkin machine. When she turned it, it made a noise, taking her money but giving her nothing back.
"SHIT" Emily swore. A blonde walked in, giving Emily a slight smile, then walking into a stall. Emily sighed and went to wash her hands. She dried them off and looked at herself in the mirror. She looked like shit run over twice. She slid her hands down her face and sighed. A stall opened and the blonde walked up to wash her hands.
"Excuse me…Um…Do you happen to have a tampon or pad I could use?" Emily asked. The blonde gave her an akward glance then reached into her purse, handing her one.
"Thanks so much!" Emily replied, walking towards a stall. She walked out a couple minutes later to find the blonde still looking at herself in the mirror. "That's a beautiful ring"
"My boyfriend bought it for me" She replied. She looked at Emily. "My name's Tiffany"
"Emily" Emily replied, she extended her hand, then stopped and moved towards the sink to wash them. "The ring looks expensive"
"3000 dollars. He bought it last night…It's our 5 month anniversary" Tiffany replied. She looked at Emily. "I like your necklace…Is that a real diamond?"
"Yea…My ex bought it for me. We broke up last night" Emily replied. Tiffany shook her head in reply. "I can't even imagine wearing something that expensive….I would be afraid I'd loose it or something"
"You wanna try it on?" She asked. "Only if I can see your necklace"
"I think that's fair" Emily replied with a grin. She took off her necklace and handed it to Tiffany, taking Tiffany's ring. She read the inside, 'To Tiff, Love Nick'. She placed it on her finger and smiled, looking at it sparkle in the light. Emily felt something above her shake and heard screams from the outside. The huge mirror that stood in front of them came crashing down on top of them, then everything went black.
