Chapter Eighteen
"AJ WOULD YOU PLEASE TURN DOWN THE STEREO" Nick yelled. AJ was listening to "Everything You Want" on repeat. He felt it was the perfect song to describe how he was feeling. He didn't care that he was bothering everyone on the bus with it. It helped him deal with his anger. "NO" AJ yelled back to Nick. Brian spoke up.."Please, put on some headphones and sulk, I'm getting a headache from that". AJ decided to stop putting everyone through agony and grabbed his headphones. As he lay in his bunk, he couldn't help but think about Breyana. He was so angry with her. He didn't like the idea of having his emotions toyed with and felt Breyana did exactly that. He knew she was testing his faithfullness and didn't like it at all. AJ thought to himself..."I've been completely honest with her about everything. My eye hasn't wandered and I've kept my promise to her." He felt his anger rising once again and turned up the volume on his headphones.

~Vertical Horizon~
The bus ride to Orlando seemed to take forever. AJ stayed in his bunk for most of the drive down. He heard Brian call Breyana and give her the update on AJ. AJ was tired of being angry and decided when they finally got to Orlando he was going to "get on with the show" as he liked to call it. Brian could tell AJ was snapping out of his mood and knew the next phase was some type of payback for Breyana. While AJ was sleeping Brian got the rest of the guys together at the back of the bus and voiced his concerns about AJ. "I want you guys to watch AJ as close as possible when we get to Orlando. I know he is going to try to pull some crap on Breyana. I promised her I would look out for him, not to mention I don't want to see a good relationship go down the drain." The rest of the guys said they would help Brian. They all knew how AJ got when he was mad. He would always go through his angry stage and then came payback. The trouble with AJ's type of payback is that it usually ended up hurting only AJ.
Breyana sat on her couch realizing how much she missed AJ. Brian phone call shook her up. She sat there contemplating what she had done. "Maybe it wasn't the right thing to do." She wondered how AJ would treat her when she arrived in Orlando. She thought about taking an earlier flight to meet the guys when they arrived but deep inside she was afraid of what she might see if she surprised AJ. Breyana tried to get her mind of AJ by watching some television but of course MTV was not the channel to watch. They had just released the video for "The One" and she could see herself in some of the clips. "This is going to be a long day" she thought to herself. "One more day, I can make it one more day." Her thoughts were interrupted by the doorbell. "Hey" Lynn said to Breyana as she opened the door. "Are you still mad at me" Lynn inquired. "Nah, I was just moody, I've had a rough couple of days." Breyana replied. "Well in that case, I say go out like old times and have some fun." Lynn commented. "What do you have in mind?" Breyana asked. "Well, the Sweet Tarts are playing at Fantazia and I thought it would do you some good to get out, have a dance or two." "Lynn, it's been so long since I've been to a club, I don't know if I'm up for it." Breyana said to her friend. "Come on, it'll be fun. Who knows, it might get your mind off of a certain Backstreet Boy." Lynn said with a wink. "Alright, what time are you picking me up?" How's 8?" Lynn said "That's fine" was Breyana's reply. "Alright, see ya then." Lynn casually walked away and got into her car.
Meanwhile, the guys were at a rest stop and AJ decided he wanted to ride the rest of the way with the dancers. Brian came on the bus and saw AJ packing up some stuff and asked "Where ya goin'? AJ replied..."I'm going on the other bus to hang with Susan and the gang". Brian knew that AJ and Susan had a tendonsey to flirt with each other and AJ was just in the right frame of mind to do something he would regret later. "I don't think that's such a good idea AJ." Brian tried to say in a non-interfearing way. "Brian, I know you told B that you would be my....lets' just say...keeper, but it's not necessary." AJ, I know how your mind works and I know that you are intenionally going over there to get back at Breyana." "You don't know anything Brian..just stay out of it." AJ snapped back as he walked off the bus.
