YAWC: The Garden - People Who Inspire YAWC Members
Here are some of the (many) people who inspire the members here at YAWC:
From: Shegoddessulina
Age: 16
Who: Everyone
Why: In some way or another everyone inspires me. I may get inspiration for my newest screenplay by watching re-runs of Saved By The Bell (The old ones with Zach and Slater) or by walking in the woods. The people at my HS inspire me with every moment! I can't walk across campus without thinking "Gee, that'd make an awsome play..."
From: Star
Age: 13
Who: Backstreet Boys
Why: The BSB inspire me because of their songs. They're clean (that means no cussing, etc.), but their songs are still good. Brian Littrell really inspires me because he put off heart surgery to keep the groups success up. I mean, his heart disease could've killed him, but he still put off the surgery. Then, when he was fully recovered, he went right back to singing. The BSB have inspired me and my friends to start our own group...maybe we'll get to be as good as them someday!!

Age: 13
Who: Mel, and her cousin Tammy
Why: Because they both are nice and read my poetry!
From: Di
Age: 10
Who: Popeye
Why: Hehe..cuz he eats spinach and then he gets strong. I don't really eat vege, so I see that eating vege makes me strong!!
From: Crissy
Age: 15
Who: LJ Smith
Why: To tell you the truth I don't know. I love her stories and when I'm reading them just out of nowhere a story forms in my mind. (for all you poor people who do not know who she is I suggest you go to you local book store and look for her books. Please DONT JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS TITLE.) OH and one more thing she is a YOUNG ADULT writer.

Who: Leah, and my best friend KT
Why: Leah: Leah confides in me and makes me feel that I'm a nice person. When I don't know if I can do something, Leah says "You can do this, Emma," and encourages me all the way. Even if I really can't, it helps to know someone's behind you.
KT: KT has always done things at the same time as me, even though I'm older than she is. She did some things first, like making friends that are boys, and in a lot of ways she does it better than I ever could. So I ask myself: "What would KT do?" It usually works.

Who: Nature
Why: Well, I guess my answer sounds pretty weird, but it seems to be where I get a lot of poetry from because it's so beautiful and mysterious...and yet there's a reason and an explanation for nearly everything that it does!
From: Fancy
Age: 13
Who: Her friend
Why: This person is a person who is there when her friends need her. I can't explain it in words how a friend feels. The most important is trust.
From: K.D.
Age: 12
Who inspires her: Mel
Why: Mel inspired me cause she made this club & it already has close to 200 hundred members! I am gonna have a club called gurls only which will have an on-line mag & e-mail pals, games, contests, etc! Plus a really cool homepage! If anyone is interested in helping me out or joining my club, please e-mail my club addy at gurlsonly@hotmail.com

Age: 10
Who inspires her: Hanson
Why: Hanson said, that you can just write part of a song, not knowing that it'll be a song. Then, you improve the song, add lines, parts. Then it's really a song.
From: Kristy
Age: 13
Who inspires her: Her best friend; Mel
Why: Mel inspires me more than anyone. She's a great friend and is willing to listen to me whenever I need someone to listen. Many of the things that happen to her give me ideas for poems, stories, even songs. She is always there for me and I can always count on her to give me a helping hand. Thanks, Mel!!
From: Centurion
Age: 15
Who: dad and brother (Chris)
Why: Both of them were having a raging fight over stolen drug money. I was watching Star Trek: Deep Space 9 at the time. The fight insprired me to write "Leaving Home, a story that hit too close to home for my mum...."What if my brother left home?"
From: CoCo
Age: 18
Who: Hanson
Why: I like their music, and they are sooo cool.
From: Nita
Age: 13
Who inspires her: L.M. Montgomery and Louisa May Alcott
Why: Lucy Maud Montgomery and Louisa May Alcott (Anne Of Green Gables was set onlt ten years after the start of Little Women) inspire me because they wrote realistic stories about realistic people. Their books are well liked by people of most agesm and I would like to be able to write as well as they did.
