Dear Brother

I have come to the conclusion to write you our letter more without an answer to the thing I have written to you--- the last letter I had from home was dated sometime in March I think. It may be you and looking for me home soon, is the reason you don’t write. Well we may be home in a few days or weeks at most, but no one knows when—at present , no one appears know anything about it. Then is no sight of learning here within two or three weeks.

I have written to know something my horses in Madison; and other things I wished to now but no answers. Now this is the last letter I am going to write, until I get an answer, if I should stay in the army for these years more.

We have but little to do here now, everything is at a stand still. Well there is considerable talk of going home soon well it may be so. I am well as ever. No news to write. No more for this time

Yours truly

R Steele
