Raphael Aloysius Lafferty--first of our 4th generation

At approximately 2am on Friday, June 28, 2002, Tony Fennelly [Gable's Central Park x Andre Norton] delivered her first foal, an elegant solid bay colt by Chapel Hill Elijah [Royal Oaks Patrick x Robbins Jubilee Mist]. The foal was long-legged & upheaded, with a dished face, a broad forehead, big eyes, a laid-back shoulder, short back and good hip. The last foal planned by 2002 AMHA Man of the Year Bob Riley, he hit the ground looking like a champion, and needed a name worthy of him. We think we've found it.

Rafe at 7 months

Astrologer Tony Fennelly (the elder) did his chart. She says "Rafe should be the *King* of the show ring. Venus which means beauty, love and money, is in Leo, the royal sign, on his 5th house of performance. He's got Mars right next to his Jupiter in Cancer, sign of the mother; all very strong in the 4th house of home, family, and mother. That Mars-Jupiter conjunction in Cancer should make Rafe one fabulous stud!"

Rafe at 9 months

On April 1, 2003, Rafe departed to Castle Ridge Keep in Crystal Lake, Illinois, where his sire stands. There Rafe matured, and began his show career. On Thursday, August 14, 2003, Rafe won the Illinois State Fair Morgan Futurity class for yearling colts. He's on his way to fulfill our dreams for him.
