What we are Doing.
What we are trying to do here is to help raise awareness to both the Kermode Bear and the Grate Bear Rainforest. In doing this we will be helping to save them both. This is important to me in many ways. I remember the first time I saw a picture of the Spirit Bear I just felt that I needed to be involved in helping to save this animal and the land where it lives. So I started "get the word out" and talked to people about the Spirit Bear and had planed to go on a trip to photograph the land and the Bear. Well that after a while lead to this page. As much as my ego would like to say that I personally saved them it simply would not be the truth. The Rainforest in that area is being clear-cut EVERY DAY and as bad as it sounds even while you read this we are loosing trees that have stood for hundreds of years, we are loosing land that is needed to support the Spirit Bear, and we are loosing shade to cool the streams that the Salmon spawn in. Once it is gone it will take a long time (if ever) to get it back.

How we are doing this?

First of all get the word out! That is what I hope to do with this web page. Things like this can be won or lost based on simply how many people get talking.

We need people to help with Writing E-mail or snail mail letters to the companies and people involved in making the choices on what to do with this land. To do this people need to know where to send the letters and why. I plan to give people that very information.

The web page also provides a place where people can be kept up to date on what is going on. This is also something that we will provide.

What is also needed is a place where others can go to get information on what is happening, If all a person can do is talk about the problem at the water cooler at work or general chat at home then by all means do it! We will provide the more in-depth information or at least a link to it so others can check it out on there own time.

We also plan to set up trips to go and get the photographs, film, ect. to get the word out.>

There are many other ideas that we have to help in this cause and will be adding to this web page.

What can I do to help?
Talk Talk Talk. The more the word gets out the better. We will have an area from the main page with listings on what you can do to help that will explain better what is needed but talking about the problem gets others involved as well. As you know talking is good and we need that but if you can "action" is also good. That you will also be able to see what you can do to help from the main page. Also check back to this web page from time to time to see what is going on.

Donations , buying stuff
This is how we do our funds for the trip web page and other programs in this area that we hope to get started. We will be excepting donations but not only of money. We also need people that can help in the trip, general information, and added help in a wide variety of areas. It is honestly one of my goals with this to not just ask for money! Maybe you could bring some travel food items to the group going on the trip, or use if a boat and you could bring us to the island in B.C. or your a teacher and you could take some time to get the class involved. Don't get me wrong money is also needed but there are a lot of people that could donate something else and that is also NEEDED!

If you buy something from this site where dose the money go?

The money that is received when you buy something or through donation goes back into this site, the trip, or for other products to be offered. I'm not receiving any pay for doing this and all people working directly are not getting paid it is all volunteer work right now with some exceptions.

EXCEPTIONS!?!

Exceptions would be in cases of people helping out. A good example of this would be if someone offered to drive part of the trip group to a location then they could receive money for gas, or someone offered to print the T-shirts for free but needed money to buy the actual shirts, things of that nature would be exceptions. An offer dose not mean that there would be pay involved. The pay if any would have to be discussed and worked out by both groups before a service would be excepted. But you can feel safe with the fact that all money donated goes back into this project.

I don't honestly feel that at this time there is any need for a paid job with this project but this may change in the future if the need arises. What we keep in mind though is that every dollar that goes out to pay someone is a dollar that is gone and could of maybe been used in a better way.

Right now this site is a personal site. I hope to get this into a non-profit site but I want to get things going on saving the Spirit Bear first as that is the goal here.
