Hi! My name is Julie and I'm 18 years old. I've had RSD for almost 2 years. Most of the doctors I was seeing didn't understand or believe in RSD. No matter what people say...you aren't crazy even though your friends might say otherwiseJ. Having RSD is tough to deal with. I'm still learning how to slow down, and accept that I can't do everything. Just remember that you control your life-no matter what. Sometimes I've felt like a ragdoll being pulled in every direction. Anyway, about 2 months ago I was also diagnosed with Fibromyalgia (FMS).
In the fall I will be attending UW-Madison and majoring in Dietetics. I would like to become a nutritionist and work in a pain center. Maybe I can help others reduce their pain through their diets. Overall, I've found that alternative therapies seemed to have helped me regain more movement. So far I've tried or am trying Feldenkrais, guided imagery, nutrition, a little aroma therapy, magnet therapy, exercise, massage therapy, music therapy, etc.
My main area of interest is the Fine Arts. I love to sing, and I occasionally play the piano when I'm able to. Most of my free time is spent waiting in doctor offices, confusing doctorsJ, hanging out with my friends, or writing random emails.
I'm always looking for new email buddies, medical info, jokes, weird stories, etc.
If you have any questions or interesting info email me at Jreiss1@ibm.net
