Parasite Eve
Parasite Eve was the first game in the US to be relased under Square's new Square/EA develper deal. It has done quite well here in the US. The Game is based around the events of the Parasite Eve book and movie from Japan. The game is based around Mitochondria(yes these things were even mentioned in Star Wars Episode One) which are microorganisms that live in our cells. They produce the energy within living things. Mitochondria could be traced to one being through DNA research which scientists called "Eve". Eve has been waiting for her own day to take over the human race, which happened to be Christmas Eve in New York. Aya Brea and her partner are sent to investigate the matters, along with a strange scientist from Japan. Aya seems to have some sort or resistence to Eve's power, making her the only one who can fight her. Parsite Eve is named the cinematic RPG because if its cool FMV, I highly recomend this title also. The game also comes with a playable demo of Xenogears and other movies or Squaresoft games.
Characters
Aya Brea
Aya lost her mom and sister Maya in a car accident, and because of that she became a detective. She has worked in the NYBD's 17th Percinct for 6 months and is the parnter of Daniel. During the game she discovers that she is the only one that is immune to Eve's powers and that her sister Maya was actually the carrier of the original Eve.
Daniel Dollis
Daniel has been at the 17th Percinct for 20 years and has develped a father-daughter like relationship with his partner Aya. Daniel had a divorce with his wife Lorraine a year ago and has been raising his son Ben by himself sense. Lorraine is later killed by Eve so Ben helps Aya even more to get his and his son's revenge.
Melissa/Eve
Melissa was an opera singer and had a lead role on Christmas Eve. She was always on a lot of medication and was a child had a transplant. The transplant had Eve cells in it, and the medication was somehow stopping her from over comming Melissa's body. But when she got the lead role and was busy Melissa stopped taking as much medicine, this resulted in Eve being awakened. Eve has the power of Mitochondria, and can burn organisms or call upon their Mitochondria to mutate them. Eve goes out to destory the human race because Mitochondria does not need them anymore, she also goes out to give birth to the Ulitmate Being. Aya is the only one that can stop her.
Kunihiko Maeda
Maeda is scietist from a Japenese university's pharmaceutical department. He is sort of a slob with no luck with women. He comes to America after hearing of the Eve dangers because of simular events in Japan. He turns out to be very useful and even develps a cursh on Aya at the end of the game.
Klamp
Doctor or Professor Klamp works at the museum. He is a very wierd and strange man who knows a lot about Mitochondria. It turns out that he is the one who helps Eve, because he knows the human race can not win.
Maya
Maya is Aya's sister that was in the car accident with her mother. Aya keeps seeing Maya's spirit during the game. It seems that Klamp gave a piece of Maya's eye to Aya after the accident, and Maya was infected with the Eve cells. That made Aya immune to Eve. Maya is also in the Cystler Building as the real Eve, but the Maya cells in Aya's eye helps her defeat it.
Ben
Ben is Daniels son. He gets into lots of trouble. Ben escaped the deadly Central Park massacure that his mother was killed in, but still got in trouble after the police dog mutates.
EX Game Final Boss Guide
We're pretty sure you know how to access the EX game, the book even tells you. Anyway the Cryslar Building is open in this game, and it has 77 floors, each floor as like a prize room or something and elevator to the next floor. Every Ten floors you fight a boss that you most likely beat before and you get an elevator key for those 10 floors. On the 77th floor(70 or something starts with muck all over the rooms) you find Maya/The real Eve, which looks just like your liberated Aya. The key to beating this is to have Pre-Revive always casted, but the key thing is, is when the Maya spirit comes down to charge Eve, DO NOT ATTACK HER, attacking her causes a second Maya to come and fully heal her, and you don't want that. Just follow these rules and it's a breeze.
