Palettes

The absolute best way to change the palette is to write your own sub for it. Don't panic though, it takes about 4 or 5 lines. I won't go into the details of how you do it, but you directly affect the palette, rather than using the normal palette statement, which is so slow because it waits for the screen to refresh. Here's the sub you need to make:

sub pal(r, g, b, col)
out &h3c8, col
out &h3c9, r
out &h3c9, g
out &h3c9, b
end sub

It's that simple. You might not understand all of that, but all you have to do with it is call it sending along the red value, green value, blue value, and the color you want to change. The palette statement also has a lot of math, so it takes for ever to type in the command, and more important, run.
