Isaac Hanson peeked out the window and took a deep breath as his girlfriend, Rebekah, walked up the driveway to his house. He had been dreading this moment all day. He truly loved Rebekah, and didn't want to hurt her for anything in the world, but he felt that she deserved more than he could give her. The doorbell rang, and Ike went to let is girlfriend in.
"Hi Sweetie!," said Rebekah happily as she greeted Ike with a soft kiss.
"Hi Bek," he said kissing her back.
"So what do you want to do today?" she asked.
"Uhh... Bek, I really need to talk to you about something."
"What is it?" she asked while sitting down on the Hansons' couch.
"Well...It's just..I...," he stammered, uncertain about how to approach the subject.
"Ike, come on, you can tell me anything," said Rebekah.
"Ok. Look, I...I think we should break up." he said in a rush.
"WHY??," yelled Rebekah. "I thought you loved me," she said in a whisper.
"I do," Isaac replied. "But I'm hardly ever around anymore, and now me, Tay, and Zac are gonna start the tour soon. I mean, who knows how long we'll be gone. You deserve better, you need a real boyfriend, someone to take you out every week, not once every two months."
"But I love you!," replied Rebekah, "I don't want to see other people!"
"I love you too, and that's why i'm doing this." Ike said trying to calm her down. "Trust me, its for the best."
"FINE! If that's what you want, then you got it!" yelled Rebekah as the anger rose in her voice. "I'm outta here," she screamed slamming the door.
"I'm sorry," whispered Ike, leaning against the door, tears forming in his eyes. Outside Rebekah collapsed onto the lawn as tears began streaming down her face. Isaac peeked out the window and saw Rebekah crying. He picked up his guitar and began to sing.
I'm sorry if I made you cry
I'm sorry if tears fell from your eyes
I'm sorry if I hurt you
For that was not at all what I intended to do
But just remember
For every tear that falls
from your eyes
Two tears fall from mine
I never wanted to hurt you baby
I never wanted those tears to fall
I never wanted to make you cry
I guess I should have taken a little more time
For every tear that you cry
Two tears fall from mine
For every tear that you cry
Two tears fall from mine
For every tear that you cry
For every tear that you cry
Two tears fall from mine
Outside Rebekah heard the soft sound of Ike's singing. She stood up, wiped the tears from her eyes and began to walk down the sidewalk. Turning around she looked back at the Hanson house, with a huge pain in her heart. She whispered one last, "I love you," and headed home.
