Part Six

Lance smiled and stared at Katie in the outfield.

AJ, who was sitting next to Lance, scooted closer. "You asked those girls out already?" They both nodded. "You're gonna keep it a secret, right?"

"I wanted to," Lance admitted, "but they already got it all on camera."

"Just tell them not to air it. Threaten to sue or something."

Justin changed the subject. "If Amanda says yes, I'm hoping that it won't get out."

"That's the best idea," AJ agreed. "Especially for you because if your fans find out that you have a girlfriend who's a fan, it's not gonna be good."

Rebekah couldn't hold in her comments anymore. "Besides, you're the heartthrob of the group, Justin. Fans will get suicidal if they know you're taken."

Theresa jumped in the conversation also. "Fans get mad even if there's only rumors about girlfriends."

"So you're not going to tell anyone?" AJ said.

"No one would believe us," Erin, next to Justin, put in.

Looking at Amanda laughing with Katie, Rebekah assured Justin, "She'll say yes."

"Yeah, no kidding. Why wouldn't she?" added Theresa. Justin grinned. He hoped they were right.

"What wants to bat?" yelled J.

"I need a batter!" Aaron called from the plate.

"I think I'll give batting a try." Sean decided in his heavy accent. Half the team could barely understand him, but they ssumed he wanted to bat.

While Sean warmed up batting and Abs practiced his underhand pitching, the Gumen in the field tossed a ball back and forth. First, Chris rocked it from third to Nick Carter on first base. Then, Nick tossed it gently to Kristen at second. He underestimated her softball skills. Kristen turned around and launched a pop-up into the air that Katie and Sarah tried to cath. Katie ended up catching it and sending it to Joey in the outfield. Joey tossed it to Amanda who threw it to Nick Lachey at short stop. Nick noticed Abs and Sean were ready, so he threw the ball of the field.

"Maybe Jeff should pitch again. Instead of Abs," Ritch suggested to Taylor after Abs made Theresa walk to first by nailing her in the leg. Taylor laughed.

"I hope Theresa's alright," Zac said thoughtfully.

"Zac, why are you here?" Taylor wondered, "It's the second inning, and you haven't done a thing!"

"Well, I REALLY wanted to play second, but so did Kristen, so I let her have it."

"Aw, that's so cute!" Ritch gushed. Zac rolled his eyes.

The beginning of "Everybody" by the Backstreet Boys rang out from the speakers next to the DJ booth. Rebekah and Erin jumped up and began doing the well-known dance in their dugout. They three Pirate Backstreet Boys, Brian, AJ, and Kevin jumped up, too. Finding they didn't have enough room in the dugout, the five of them ran out and continued dancing. In the outfield, Katie caught on. Amanda, Katie, Nick and Aaron, who had memorized all his big brother's dances, swumg their arms to the music. Howie got out of the Gumen dugout to join in. Since Theresa was on first base, she danced next to Nick Carter. Because she had done the dance so many times and taught it to her friends, Theresa hit all the moves perfectly.

Abs tried to continue the game, but no one would step up to the plate. After the song, the Backstreet Boys and their fans were ready to cooperate. Rebekah leaped into the dugout and plopped own beside Justin Jeffre. "You haven't batter yet," Justin commented.

Rebekah took a gulp of air. She was a little winded from dancing. "I don't like batting," she replied simply. "Hey, Tim, wanna bat?" she called to her brother, who was discussing music with J.

"Yeah!" He strutted out of the dugout and selected a short bat. Abs pitched, but the ball went behind Tim's back. He hopped closer to the plate, so he wouldn't get beaned.

Aaron ran to retrieve the ball and tossed it to Abs, yelling, "You want someone else to pitch now?"

"Lemme give it another shot," requested Abs. The next pitch was pretty low to the ground, but Tim had no intention of waiting for agood one, so he scooped it up with one swift swing. He dropped the bat and sprinted to first base, screaming at Theresa to run faster. Theresa mad it to third before the ball could get anywhere near Chris. Tim was tagged out at second base by Kristen. As he entered the dugout and walked beside the bench, he returned high fives from Sean, Brian, Justin J., Rebekah, Erin, Isaac, Theresa, Lance, Scott, AJ, Kevin, Justin T., and J (in that order). J moved over, so Tim sat between him and Justin.

After the last out, it was time to take a break for lunch. It was a really hot day, and everyone was getting sick of softball. The refreshments were set up inside Milwaukee County Stadium, so the drinks wouldn't get hot. With six famous groups/artists at one venue, there was a ton of different food to satisfy all the specific tastes. There was McDonald's, pizza, subs, soda, water, chips, fruit, candy, vegetables, cookies, ice cream, and Twinkies. Rebekah was in heaven.

"Hey, Habek," Theresa called, "They even have candy corn!" Now Rebekah really was in heaven.

"Guys," Amanda said, running up to her friends, "someone come with me. I need to break up with Tony."

Although Rebekah didn't want to climb down from heaven, she needed to make sure Amanda ended her relationship with Tony. Katie also agreed to come, but no one else could be torn away from the hot guys and food. "Guard the candy corn," Rebekah commanded her friends who were staying.

"Yeah, and guard Justin!" Amanda called over her shoulder, laughing as they walked away.

It took a little bit of walking before the girls located a pay phone.

"Know what?" Katie just realized. "How many guys in there have a cell phone you could use?"

"Oh well," replied Amanda. "I need to be alone to do this. And it's too loud in there." Amanda popped in a dime and a quarter and dialed her boyfriend's number. "Hi, is Tony there?" she asked pleasantly.
