Breanna had a nice house. It was one story, and all the rooms lined up next to each other in a little row. She led me to her bedroom, and I was happy to find a few Hanson posters on her wall. We talked for awhile and planned our day.
Soon after I arrived, Breanna's Grandparents offered to drive us (Breanna, her brother, sister, cousin, and I) to the lake. Afterwards they bought us ice cream.
We thanked her Grandparents and walked back to her house. There was a bread truck in the drive. Breanna's dad was home. Breanna's dad was sitting on a chair watching TV. I was introduced and we joined him. After being away from a normal house for awhile, it was almost weird watching TV.
Breanna's mother returned from work, and I was introduced to her, also. Both parents must have asked what we were doing that night at least fifty times. We went through a few options and decided we would go shopping downtown. For dinner we ate spaghetti on the porch while I was asked every question imaginable.
Breanna's mother dropped us off downtown. We immediately stepped in the store Breanna's Grandmother worked at to ask when we should meet so she could drive us home. While in the small clothing store we tried on all the sample hand lotions on a cart near the cash register.
Soon after Breanna and I found ourselves in the bookstore. The wall that was completely full with every magazine imaginable amazed me. We spend most of our time looking at all the teenybopper magazines. Breanna bought two of them and I spent my small amount of money on a Backstreet Boys magazine.
While checking out our magazines, a guy with his girlfriend behind us made a not-so-nice comment. I ignored him and told Breanna later while we talked about how impolite some people were.
Breanna and I didn't go into many stores. We just walked down the sidewalk thinking about each store we passed. As we walked past a hippie type store, a girl a few years older than us said, "We're fishing in here!" Breanna couldn't get than out of her head so we later went in to investigate. It turned out you "fished" for an item in a bag or in a fishing vest, but you had to pay for what you got. We intelligently decided against that game, but while we were looking around I found a cool mushroom candle for my friend at home, Rebekah. I didn't buy it, though.
Breanna's Grandma got off work early, so she volunteered to drive us to Blockbuster to rent a movie. Breanna wanted "Good Will Hunting," which I had seen, but the store was out. I suggested "I Know What You Did Last Summer," and Breanna agreed.
When we returned to Breanna's house, her brother and her cousin Tyler (who Breanna accidentally called Taylor a few times) were watching wrestling, so we had to wait to watch our movie.
While waiting for the TV, Breanna and I ate ice cream, which we both admitted to secretly loving. (like you and me, Maddy!) We also looked through our new magazines.
The phone rang and Breanna answered it. I could tell by the way she was talking that it was one of her friends, and this friend had big news. What I didn't know was that this news would change my life.
