Chapter 6

"BBBBRRRRRINGG!" The next morning Dawn's phone rang at 10:00 AM. "Hello?" she said.

"Dawn, this is Theresa, and guess what!?"

"What?" Dawn asked aggravated.

"I just got off the phone talking to Nick!" She said excitedly.

"That's great." Dawn said, tiredly, hung up the phone, not realizing what Theresa had just said, and plopped back down in her bed, but not more than a second later she shot out of bed, picked up the phone, and speed dialed Theresa.

"I knew you'd call back." Theresa said.

"Did you just say you were just talking to Nick Carter?" Dawn asked.

"Yup," Theresa replied. "He was just calling to see if I could bring chips or soda to the hotel later, but we talked about the concert, how much his little brother likes you, and how Howie puts his hair in curlers at night!"

"Get out! That is so unreal!" Dawn said.

"Actually, Dawn, I was kidding, Howie doesn't put his hair in curlers."

"No, I kind of figured that, but did you say Aaron really, actually likes me?" Dawn asked.

"Yup, but he also said that he think despite the age difference that Brian likes you, too."

"Aaaahhhh!" Dawn screamed into the phone. "This is so cool! And from the sounds of it, it sounds like Nick thinks you're all right, too!"

"That would be so cool!" Theresa said. "I kind of like him, too, but I still like Zac, Ike, and Taylor MUCH better."

"Well, I'm going to let you go so we can get ready for later." Dawn said.

"Okay, but come over when you're ready, okay?" Theresa said.

"Okay." Dawn replied, and they both hung up. Dawn went into her closet and picked out a white sweater-T and her khaki corduroy overalls and headed for the shower.

Back at Theresa's house, Theresa and her two brothers Joe and Jake were fighting over the last toaster strudel. "Jake come on, you had two yesterday, and Joe, you already had four today." Theresa complained.

"I'm still hungry though, a monster needs lots of food to grow." Joe said, pretending to be godzilla.

"But I'm hungry, too" Jake whined.

"Have the frosted flakes, like you do every other morning." Theresa told Jake.

"But Joe ate them all, too" Jake complained again.

"Fine," Theresa gave in, handing the last toaster strudel to Jake, and went upstairs to take a shower.

Back at Dawn's house, Dawn was brushing her teeth, and put her hair up in a ponytail, then she put on just a little makeup, and headed over to Theresa's house, when Theresa was getting out of the shower. She had picked out some flares and a blue and white striped, spaghetti strap tank top. "This is going to be great." Theresa said brushing her hair.

"I don't know, did Nick say if Aaron was going to be there?" Dawn asked.

"Yup, he told me to warn you about him!" Theresa said laughing. Theresa put on some makeup and looked at the clock. "Holy cow! It's 12:30. Let's get something to eat, downstairs." The girls went downstairs and had some macaroni (zacaroni) and cheese.

"Only 3 ½ more hours!" Dawn screamed.

"I can't wait!" Theresa also screamed.

"Yeah, what are we going to do to pass the time?" Dawn asked.

"Let's go on the Internet" Theresa said.

"Okay," Dawn agreed, and it was only a matter of time before the doorbell rang, and a limo was in the driveway. Zac was the only one waiting inside, and Theresa was ecstatic.

"Hi," Zac greeted them.

"Hi," both girls said. "Zac, can you ask the driver to stop at Pick 'n Save, so we can get some Jolt?" Theresa asked.

"Why?" Zac asked. "We already have more than enough soda at the hotel." Zac said looking confused.

"Well, Nick called me this morning, and asked me to bring some." Theresa explained.

"That was just an excuse for him to talk to you." Zac said.

"Oh." Theresa replied blushing a little.

"Do you like him?" Zac asked.

"Well, yeah, I mean, he's really nice and cool, and everything, but I kinda…" Theresa trailed off.

"What she's trying to say is that she likes you!" Dawn blurted out, knowing her friend would be mad at her for that outburst. Theresa gave Dawn the evil eye, then blushed furiously, staring at the ground.

All three were embarrassed, and Zac decided to break the silence by saying, "Is that true, Theresa?" he asked in a funny accent.

"Well, I kinda, sorta" she managed to spit out.

"I think that's cute." Zac said. She glanced shyly at him, and gave him a cute smile, and he smiled an award-winning smile right back at her. They rode in silence the rest of the way back to the hotel, except for Zac's Aerosmith CD blaring "I don't wanna miss a thing"loudly. They finally reached the hotel, and the three of them climbed out of the limo, and strolled, up to the seventh floor of the hotel, where they were staying that night.
