Ra's Al Ghul is probably the most cunning and ingenious of Batman's foes, and has tested the the Dark Knight moreso than any other villian, including the Joker. Ra's is a being surrounded by mystery, but we do know this; he is immortal, claiming to have lived for over 600 years; his longevity is derived from a pit of chemicals called the Lazarus Pit.
