WHO WANTS TO BE A WILIONAIRE REVIEW

the age

Everything about Who Wants to be a Wilionaire, a new show from the Triple J Breakfast Show's Wil Anderson, is filled with a loud, chaotic energy. Anderson is a voluminous, excitable presence on stage as he turns over the issues of the day, including a detailed dissection of Popstars and a hilarious deconstruction of the politics of tampons.

Who Wants to be a Wilionaire is loosely based around the pitfalls of people's fascination with fame. Thankfully, Anderson regularly strays from this theme - some of the best parts of his stand-up are his digressions with the audience - asthe disordered structure suits his hyperactive style.Although the material shifts a little awkwardly between satire and goofy comedy -Anderson is too good-natured to be truly scathing - there are many genuinelyfunny moments, especially when the comedian seems to be having as much fun as his audience.

Who Wants to be a Wilionaire is running until 23 April at the Victoria Hotel.
