Airsoft is becoming a popular sport in America. It's not paintball, but instead of shooting paintballs it shoots a 6mm plastic BB that doesn't hurt too much when it hits you. I have a small version of one. It's fully automatic, pretty fun to shoot. The normal-size Airsoft guns are exact replicas of real weapons except they are made from a different material. They can shoot semi-automatic or fully automatic, which electric Airsofts basically are both semi and full auto, which means when you pull the trigger for a semi-auto it shoots 1 bb, when you hold down the trigger on full auto bb's come spraying out. There are 3 different kinds of power that are used to make the BB shoot out of the barrel. They are like airguns, but you can shoot at each other with em. The first power is electric. You can get about 1200 BB's out of one battery.The big battery is like an RC car battery ,cause most AEG's come with smaller batteries. They generally use electric motors. They can fire up to 800 rounds per minute on full-auto. Gas Airsofts are like CO₂ airguns, except they use an oil mixed with the CO₂. The gas is loaded in the bottom of the Airsoft magazine (clip). They make a blowback effect which makes the slide on the gun kick back, which produces a recoil but some gas guns do run on gas but are made without the blowback effect. You can get about 50 rounds with a fill-up of gas on the magazine. Spring guns work on a spring and compressed air. When you pull back the slide, it sucks up air and traps the air and when it is fired, the air releases and the spring pushes it out. A hop-up mechanism is where air puts a spin on the BB, which gives it better accuracy. Then there are numerous accesories for these Airsoft guns. I will post pictures of each kind of Airsoft guns.
