it's me! my sweet and i

Hey. Welcome to my humble abode. Come on into my little kitchen and pull up a chair. I have coffee brewing (I also have tea, hot chocolate or hot spiced apple cider if you prefer) and we'll pour a steaming cup to have with some fresh-baked cookies, still warm from the oven. Then we can immerse ourselves in a deep discussion or reminisce about the past. Those were some good times, eh?

mmm, smell the coffee brewing!

For those of you who don't know, I was born in 1974 and my name is Reema, which in Arabic means "gazelle". I was born overseas in the middle east, in the UAE, and within a few years, my husband and I hope to go back for a visit. I did spend 5 months over there in 1997, and it was an amazing experience. I felt like I had come home!

The most important relationship I have in my life is my relationship with Jesus Christ. It is not a religion, I know Him personally! He is my best friend; he means everything to me, and he has been so faithful. I would love to tell you more about him. If you're interested, e-mail me or click here. In the meantime, you can read my personal testimony.

Christian answers

If you still have questions about what I believe and why, click on the Christian Answers logo (above), or the Answering Islam logo (below). Both of these sites have helpful information which may answer some of your questions. Take a look. I have to tell you all this stuff because it is the core of who I am. But I'm also someone who hates to be wrong (although I often am). I hate to be put in a box. I don't want to be treated like a victim, and I try to treat everyone in the same way that I want to be treated. I'm pretty easy-going. I have a strange sense of humor. I like rainy days and I love the autumn! It really doesn't take much to make me happy. Anyway, I hope you feel at home here, and I want you to learn all you care to know about me (and even things you may not want to know!).

God truly does know what is best for us. He steered me away from a relationship I was holding onto, and given me one so much better for me. I am now married to the love of my life, Harold Benjamin (or Ben) whom I have known since 1992, from attending the same university. Our wedding date was May 14th, 1999, and if you're interested, here are some pictures. While I was attending school at Grace University and the years following, I also met some other very close friends. You can see most of them here!

I have Multiple Sclerosis. I was diagnosed in April of '98. I feel like I have aged a lifetime since my diagnosis, but it has also really been the hugest blessing in disguise--I wouldn't trade it for anything. In fact, I'm downright thankful for my MS. It has pulled me into a deeper walk with Jesus and caused me to trust him even more. He is so good to me! I think I have grown more in him since my diagnosis than I ever have before. And while I often get frustrated with my disease, I know that it's all part of God's perfect plan for my life and I know that He is still in control. Suffering definitely has its positive points, and until you've experienced it, you wouldn't realize that. All suffering comes through God's fingers of love. None of it happens without his knowledge or his allowing it to happen. It's not a bad thing, it's just part of his refining process--to make you into the person he wants you to be.

In 2005 I was diagnosed with progressive MS. This is th BAD KIND of MS! There are no treatments for this type of MS, so I will just get worse and worse. Is God still in control? I believe that emphatically!

Whenever you're ready, please allow me the pleasure of showing you around.

If not, well, thanks for stopping by, sign my guestbook, and have a wonderful day!
