https://www.healthline.com/health/toxic-friendships#moving-forward Toxic Friendships: Put you down Gossip Apologize without sincerity Make you feel nervous Leave you unsettled Compare you to other people Put themselves front and center — alwaysTry to change you How toxic friendships affect you: You feel lonely and isolated Your stress increases You don’t feel supported Your self-confidence and self-esteem take a hit You often feel off-balance Your other relationships suffer So, now what? It’s OK to want to offer a second chance… Take space for yourself Set boundaries Practice ahead of time Be direct Think carefully before getting back in touch Open up to others Take care of yourself Shopping for a car, gym membership, or toaster, here are eight tips for dealing with aggressive salespeople: 1. DISTINGUISH BETWEEN ASSERTIVE AND AGGRESSIVE. There can be a fine line between being assertive and aggressive, and it's up to you to distinguish between a salesperson who’s annoyingly overeager and one who will say anything to make a sale. If you’re waffling on whether to make a purchase, an assertive salesperson may provide more information or respectfully ask you what he can do to help you make your decision. 2. BE MINDFUL OF YOUR EMOTIONS. Good salespeople are skilled at reading customers’ emotions and examining their body language to determine if they’re going to buy an item. But aggressive salespeople can use this skill to manipulate customers into buying something they don’t really want.3. PRESENT A UNITED FRONT. 4. DON’T FALL FOR ARTIFICIAL DEADLINES. 5. REGISTER YOUR PHONE NUMBERS ON THE DO NOT CALL REGISTRY. 6. BE MINDFUL OF COMMISSIONS. 7. DON’T BE AFRAID TO REPEAT YOURSELF. Pushy salespeople know that their persistence can wear you down and break your resolve. If you don’t want to buy something or need more time to think, be firm—and use unequivocal terms like "I don't" or "I won't" rather than "I can't." 8. Tiny habits:
1. Manage your time well. Write down what you want to do daily and mark it off when you accomplish it.
2. Do zero-based monthly budget every month.
3. Don't use credit cards.
4. Delay gratification. Save for everything you want. Don't buy anything unless you have the money. Pay cash for your cars.
5. Figure out your net worth at least two times a year. Try to raise your assets and lower your liabilities.
6. Only carry debt on things that are going up in value, like real estate. Don't rent or lease anything, or buy anything with payments.
7. Read. Many books per year.
8. Own rental properties.
9. Run your home like a business. Budget is your monthly income statement (or profit/loss statement). Net worth statement, that as stated in #5 above is done 2X each year, is like a balance sheet as it records assets and liabilities. Goal is to get as much profit as possible. Profit is how much money is left over after all expenses are paid every month. The goal is to have as much profit as possible, just like a business. Make this your 1st and most important business.
