Arry was born on April 19, 1999 in Austin Texas. His mom is Drogheda's Sheena and dad is
Striders Meshach Drogheda
Arry has been through puppy manners class and finished beginning
obedience. He also is learning how to act in the conformation ring, well sort of.
The trainer had some of the advanced dogs go in the show ring with Arry
and we did a pretend conformation show. Arry first grabbed his lead
several times while we were "showing" and finally chewed it in half.
Next he grabbed the sweater I was wearing and tried to pull it off of me. Then he
tried to grab my bait bag and pull that off me. I asked the trainer if
maybe we should stop. She and the others said "NO KEEP GOING, WE HAVEN'T LAUGHED
THIS HARD IN WEEKS".
ON DECEMBER 7TH 1999,ARRY WAS DIAGNOSED WITH A LEAKING AORTIC VALVE, ATRIAL PREMATURE CONTRACTIONS AND ATRIAL TACHYCARDIA. HE WILL NEVER BE SHOWN AND IS NOT TO BE STRESSED OR EXCITED AS IT COULD CAUSE A HEART ATTACK. (How I will accomplish that remains to be seen!!!) I WILL TRY TO GIVE HIM THE BEST HOME HE COULD WISH FOR UNTIL HE GOES TO THE BRIDGE. The cardiologist feels this is not a problem passed on by his parents, she thinks it is one of those odd ball birth defects. I want to thank Arry's breeder, Julia, for all the help and support she has been. This has been as hard on her as it has been for me and she has stood behind her line 110%. Thank you again Julia.
UPDATE APRIL 2001 Arry is still with me, still a wonderful boy. He no longer can run and play with the others, he watches them in the yard from his observation point on the deck. He plays tug of war with me in the house and plays a little with the others in the living room. He can't run very much, but he tries. His chest has gotten massive and the heart beat is very loud. His veterinarian is suprised he is still alive and doesn't really think he will make it another year. He is a wonderful and special boy, and even though he brought me sorrow, he has given me much love and joy.

GUYS!! WATCH OUT!!YOU AREN'T GONNA BELIEVE WHAT HAPPENED TO ME!!!
On April 15th Arry decided to go back to school. His first class he proved himself--to still be the class clown. He did wonderful for the stay, wait, but when I called him to come he just sat there. Finally the instructor went to him to get him started. He immediately stepped into his lead with his back foot. Every time he tired to move forward he choked himself. The instructior and the whole class were in tears, doubled over with laughter. At least his heart didn't give out through all the excitement.
ARRY MADE IT TO BIRTHDAY NUMBER TWO!!!!

Arry made it to his third birthday! His vet continues to be amazed and still says the diet is keeping him going. He does have to rest a lot but sometimes he gets a burst of energy and does zoomies around the living room, destroying everything in his path.
