Onward to Lunar Eye

The remnants of the sunlight,
Piercing an indigo haze,
Stretching yearning fingers
Into the times that it would miss,

The evening was reluctant
To shed its veil upon the sky,
Hesitating just enough,
For us to steal one extra kiss,

Air light with salt and purity,
Tormenting hungry lungs,
As the silhouette of the moon emerged,
Like a lady come to undress,

Eternity on the horizon,
As the orange disc slipped down,
Behind the waves of endless ocean,
To give us the privacy for a caress,

The light in the sky was dwindling,
As the glow beneath emerged,
Stars in the sand below us,
Reverberating with each step,

The orange rays were melting,
As the sun went slinking off,
And the moon pulled out the tide
To shine her beauty from its depth.
