MATCH REPORT
TOP-OSS vs BV VEENDAM
The last match of the season played BV Veendam away against Top-Oss. For both teams
there was nothing at stake. Veendam played well and won with 3-0. Ronnie Venema who has
just signed a contract with Veendam scored the opening goal. The other goals came from
Hennie Meijer who has scored 14 times. With 14 goals Hennie Meijer has become Veendams
topscorer. Meijer will stay with Veendam for another year. Hennie Meijer was the first scorer
in a J-League match (in Japan). Veendam has finished elefenth in the first division and that was
somewhat disappointing because last year Veendam reached the play-offs. The play-offs were
the main goal this season and until the winterbreak it looked that that was reachable. Veendam
was for a short time first in the classment. But after the winterbreak nothing happened in favor
of Veendam and Veendam played really disappointing soccer for quite a while. Which lead to
the elefenth place. I hope and expect that Veendam will reach the play-offs next year.
