Uschi's Views on Artistry

 

 
Artistry is a very unusual thing in skating, and where I find the problem is that people look at the body, which is like watching the painter instead of the painting.

With Elvis, if you stand back a little bit you see the influence he has on space and how he shapes [it]…the picture that he creates. If you just look at his body, you miss the whole thing.

It's not the body, but the movement of the body. If you look at just a boat, you don't realize the effect it has on water. You have to look at the whole thing.
