PROVIDING A LITTLE SUBVERSIVE HUMOUR FOR THE BORED MASSES, THE REN & STIMPY SHOW DEBUTS ON TELETOON!

The pace is frantic, the action is exaggerated, and the characters are completely crazy! The Ren & Stimpy Show is back! One of the most talked-about half-hour cartoon which debuted in the U.S. in 1990 and aired for one season in Canada in 1992, returns to Canada debuting on TELETOON on Wednesday, March 4 at 8:30pm*.

Ren is a skinny, hyperactive and asthmatic Chihuahua, given to manic fits of towering rage and comic exasperation. Stimpy is Ren’s hopelessly stupid, fat, feline friend. Together, they go to the ends of the earth – and beyond – in some of animation’s most outrageous adventures. The cartoon, layered with references and allusions (think Rocky & Bullwinkle), appeals to the intellectual in adults, but there are also enough story lines dedicated to the virtues of flatulence and barf jokes to keep the kids lurking in adult bodies happy.

Created by John Kricfalusi, The Ren & Stimpy Show has been airing since 1990 on the U.S. cable network Nickelodeon and has been a hit with people of all ages; on its debut season, it held the record for biggest audiences for a series on cable. Two years after its debut, John Kricfalusi lost the show to Nickelodeon after a battle for creative control. MuchMusic picked up the series in 1992, where it soon became the music-video channel’s highest-rated series.

TELETOON will air all 13 original episodes of the ground-breaking first season.
