I went and visited the set of "On The Line" at the intersection of Adams and Wabash in Chicago, IL on April 20 & 21, 2001. I got to read part of the script and got up close pictures of Lance, Joey and Emanuelle Chriqui (Lance's female co-star).
Joey has kinda the grunge look going on since he's supposed to be in like an alternative-type band. Camoflage, ect.
Emanuelle wore a jean skirt, high leather black boots, and a couple different tops. At one point she wore a red and blue Cubs hat.
"Kevin" works for an ad agency or something I guess. What's written below is pretty much verbatim from the script:
"Kevin meets Abbey":Kevin (Lance) is sitting on the train, his breifcase sitting on the seat next to him. He has his tie undone, headphones on, and his eyes closed. He is listening to Al Green's "Tired of Being Lonely" (I hope that's the name of the song.. feel free to correct me.) looking rather lost and forlorn. He is singing along and becomes engrossed in the music and ends up singing rather loudly. He opens his eyes and looks around at the other people on the train. They stare at him rather awkwardly. He sheepishly grins and says softly: "Sorry."
Enter Abbey. She is beautiful and smiling. If ever there was an angel to walk the earth, she would be it. She is the most gorgeous creature alive. (Yes, the script actually describes her like that!)
She approaches Kevin.Ok, then there's a scene later in the movie. Kevin, Rod, and Eric have hand drawn a picture of Abbey and are posting it all over town. They get on the El to look for her or to see if anyone has seen her showing the picture. Eric goes into this long speech: "Have you ever been so captured by someone that you couldn't get them out of your head? Do you believe in love at first sight? My friend here absolutely has to find this girl.."
Then at some point in the scene all three guys break into "I Believe I Can Fly" right there on the train, caught up in the moment.
"The Ball Game":In the scene at Wrigley Field, Eric gets hit in a more.. uh.. "sensitive" area, falls, and then says something blaming Sammy Sosa. Kevin gets the ball and does a little happy dance, while Rod (with a mouthful of hotdog)points at him and cheers, and the extras all clap. Then Kevin asks Eric if he wants the ball and he just looks up at him like "Are you crazy?" and Kevin kinda throws the ball at him. It's supposed to be a very funny scene.
