Review: *NSync's 'No Strings Attached' tour in Joliet, IL: August 1st, 2000:

The stage got wrecked by a tornado in June..

..but the guys came back in August for the last stop of the "No Strings Attached" Tour and put on a great show!

This is for anyone who wants to know about the EXCITING things that went on at the Joliet *NSync concert. If you want to know anything else about the concert, I can't seem to stop talking about it, so feel free to e-mail or instant message me: Megabeth1@aol.com.

This Review includes:
1. Seeing Justin in a red bandana? Not what you think.
2. Britney Spears attends Joliet concert?!?
3. Bubbles make concert look really cool!
4. JC does know we sang to him!!! (or he will very soon!)
5. Where *NSync went after the concert.
6. Cop with an Autograph
7. I touched Justin's PEN!!! OMFG!! *dies happily*
8. Ruining the concert for others.. tsk tsk..
9. Stuck in traffic? Miss the concert? Dun worry, be happy. And a bye bye bye.

1. I saw him! I touched him! He's soooo adorable!

Imagine it's about thirty minutes before the opening act starts. All of a sudden a bunch of girls in the stands start screaming and pointing at something down on the floor by the stage. You stand up and strain to see what is happening at the front end of the racetrack.. and you spy..*Oh my gosh! Is that Justin in a red bandana?!?! That's his mom with him, it has to be him!!!*

Wrong. Those hundreds of girls who rushed from one side of the stage to the other, racing to see a glimpse of our favorite curly-headed boytoy were fooled, by his best friend. Justin's friend, Trace Ayala, obviously thought it would be hilarious to put on a red bandana, with blondish curls peeking from underneath, and sunglasses and walk around the stadium.. just to see how many hundreds of girls he could get to scream at HIM. I mean, wouldn't you think it was hilarious if it was you?

To learn more about Justin's good friend, Trace Ayala, visit this very informative site: All About Trace

I guess there was also another Justin look-alike spotted in section F. He had his girlfriend with him though. I dunno about you, but I'd take a guy that looks like Justin anyday.

So.. all you people who thought, *Oh my gosh! I saw Justin! I have a pic of him in his red bandana! I touched his hand!* sorry to burst your bubble (hehe, bubbles) but it wasn't him.

2. The Newlywed Couple? I think not.

*But I swear I saw him sitting with Britney Spears in the sound and lighting tower smack dab in the middle of the racetrack!* you say. Again, that was Trace. I mean, cmon, you think Justin and Britney would come and sit in the middle of 60,000 hormonally crazed teenage girl fans?!? Half an hour before he was supposed to be on stage??? Only if he had a death wish.. And no, it wasn't Britney either. She's busy with her own tour at the moment. The girl Trace was sitting with was one of the girls from an opening act, Innosense: Jenny, the one who was dressed in orange, since they're supposedly dating I guess. The boys' families and friends came to sit in that tower which blocked the rest of the raceway's view of the stage so very nicely. (I thought that was really crappy of them to do to all of you way in the back, was that tv screen even running the whole time?)

3. Awesome special effects by the fans.

Thanks to all of you who managed to sneak those bubbles in (and to those of you who tried and had them taken away.) I thought it looked really neat down on the floor and I'm especiakky proud of those who blew them even when the guys couldn't have been more than 20 feet from you! That takes will power! It looked really cool and I think the guys would've thought so too, let's hope they say something about their "last concert" on an interview somewhere. They did only move over about the first 30 rows, up to that d*mn light and sound tower. At the HBO concert they went all the way to the back of the arena. (anyone seeing a reoccurring problem with this tower?!)

It seems we even made a blonde curly-headed someone we all know teary-eyed with those beautiful bubbles. Witnesses up in those front sections net to the moving stage said Justin's eyes got all watery near the end and he was wiping them. They did show his face with teary eyes up on the big screen once or twice. Some claim it was the bubbles that got to his heart, others say it was the bubbles that got in his eyes, and some people think it was the fact that he looked in the light tower and saw his mom crying during the song, which made him cry. We also think on of the guys said something immediately after, I don't know which one.. they said something along the lines of, "That was so sweet."

4. Happy Birthday to who?

Thanks again to all of you who TRIED so hard to sing Happy Birthday to JC right when we had decided to. Although, JC didn't help much. He didn't actually say "I wanna move closer." which was the cue line. He had this long drawn out run on sentence that ended with something about moving closer.. anyway, I was sitting in section 10 on the floor. Our section adn the one right next to us (11) were singing our hearts out as loud as we could, over and over, while the guys talked and everyone else just screamed. Even though JC might not have heard us up on stage, his mother did! Their families and the girls from Innosense were sitting in the light tower and Justin's mom was looking at us smiling seeing what we were TRYING to do, so I'm sure they'll tell JC that we WERE singing and trying desperately to make him happy, and I'm sure he'll be happy when he hears about it. I've even talked to some friends of the guys and they thought it was a REALLY cool idea and they were gonna tell him.

5. Where did *NSync go?

I was planning, like a lot of you, to go "*NSync stalking" after the concert. Find the hotel they were staying in.. sit outside till 7 am.. follow them to a chicago dance club.. ect. ect. But I found out that while the concert was ending at 10:30 and the band was playing and the smoke was rolling and the fireworks and pyrotechnics were going on and the lights were flashing and everyone was screaming, at 10:31 our boys were on a bus headed to the airport to fly home. SO, anyone lucky enough tostand around and wait for them at O' Hare might have caught a glimpse of them, those of us at the concert were still screaming while the band played it's final number, the bus pulled out of the parking lot and drove off.

It ends up that 3 of the five boys went home that night. JC and Justin were spotted at Oakbrook mall in Chicago the very next day. It seems they walked into the Musicland store there and JC asked jokingly, "So, how's my cd doing?"

6. Lucky Pig

Another girl mentioned that "cop with an autograph." I met that guy.. and chatted with him for an hour and a half after the concert. He was helping out before the concert and they let him go backstage and meet the guys. He got Justin's AND Jc's autographs for his twin 6 year old daughters. Like two 6 year olds can really appreciate it.. I'm so sure. He even said they like BSB better.. figures. He's also the one who told me that *NSync was on the way to the airport at 10:31, but during the course of our conversation I made him whip out the autographs three times. I touched them twice. LOL They were the real deal. I offered him $100 just for Justin's, but he said some other girl had already offered him $300 and he couldn't do that to his little girls, he'd feel too guilty. I said they didn't have to know, but he still refused. *sigh* He didn't even know their names.. It really sucks that all these "non-fans" get to have all the cool experiences while all these "die-hard" fans are stuck trying to see the boys through binaculars.

7. I touched it baby! Oh Yeah!

So then something finally clicks in the cop's brain and he says, "You know I have the Sharpie that one of them used to sign.." My friend Emily didn't even let him finish, she snatched the pen right from his hand as he was pulling it out of his pocket. Justin had used that pen to sign the autograph in the cop's notebook, and we were holding that very pen. "You can't keep it, but you can hold it for a little while if you want.." I heard him say. I almost died. I was willing to pay for it too, or just the cap, but he still wouldn't let it go. I felt like the most pathetic teeny-bopper ever to walk the earth, and I know after all of you read this you'll tell me I AM.. LOL (I didn't used to be like this.) but just touching the microscopic particles of Justin Timberlake that were left on that pen was a total rush, you don't even know. (Probably because I know that's the closest I'll EVER get to ANY of them.) So, that was the highlight of my night, we left that cop around midnight, after seeing the autographs one last time, and releasing the death grip I had on that pen, we sat in our car at least another hour before we finally got back to the hotel at 2:30 am. I walked by other cars yelling, "I touched Justin's pen!!" (some of you might even heard me shrieking like a psycho.) but I was really not myself after that. Now it's like.. a sick type of joke between my friends and I.. Justin's "pen", but we won't go there. hehehe

8. Sorry to end this on sort of a bad note.

It was a great concert, don't get me wrong, but there always have to be these people who go and ruin it for you. Yes, I'm talking about YOU, those people who thought it was be SO COOL to sneak up to the closer seats, stand on your chairs, stand on the cement dividers, and stand in the aisles so that NO ONE behind you could see anything. I want to thank you all so much for making the concert so miserable for so many others. So, maybe you got a few pictures from 100 feet instead 500 feet. I'm ashamed to call myself an *NSync fan, puttin myself in the same catagory as you. You payed for your seats, the people in front of you payed for theirs as well, and probably payed a whole hell of a lot more (I payed $90 for mine, thank you very much!), but did you think about that? No, of course not. You were too selfish and you were screaming too loud to hear the pleads of the people behind you to go back to your seats. Every group has it's bad apples.. too bad so many of them were at the racetrack that Tuesday night.

9. You poor lost souls.

And for all of you who were stuck in the horrible horrible traffic jam and missed most or even ALL of the concert, if you have seen the HBO concert, it was ecatly the same. Well, not exactly.. the guys said they wanted to do something special since it was their "last concert" so they pulled the entire crew out on stage while they sang "I Thought She Knew." I was like, "That's special? Whatever.." but it was nice for the crew and everything. Then of course you take all the places in the HBO thing that they said "New York" and replace it with "Joliet." (Did anyone catch how Justin said it really funny the first time he said it? It was like.. "Jaw-lee-it" or something..) If you want to file a complaint with the raceway, the number is (815) 722-5500

If it makes you feel any better, I know how you feel!!! Remember I was the girl who had 11th row tickets to the show in Washington DC at RFK Stadium and my dad wouldn't let me go. But my *NSync story had a fairly happy ending and I'm sure yours will too. Remember, this tour isn't over yet! There's a whole second leg in October with all new venues and dates! WOOHOO!!!

That's all I got.. Like I said, lots of people wanted to know about what happened with JC's birthday, so if you want, forward this to as many people and e-mail lists as you want! Anyone has any questions or just wants to talk about the concert (or my close encounter with Justin's pen... "It's like 'woah'!") I'd love to talk to you!

Hope to see you all at an *NSync show in the future! "Bye Bye Bye!"
