Karen is talking to Joe about Scott leaving in the on-call room
K: Are you getting sick of this? Poor me, going around, complaining about my troubled life.
J: You can tell me anything, if you haven’t already figured that out by now.

Joe offers to come with her to say good-bye to Scott
K: Have I become a full-time job for you or what?
J: You know, not so much a job as it is an adventure. Besides, what would you do without me, huh?
K: Well, I haven’t told you this, but lately I have been asking myself the same thing.
J: Well, you don’t have to tell me.

Later, at Scott’s, Serena tells Karen they’re staying in PC
J: Well, looks like someone’s building a family, huh?
Karen gives him a big hug.
J: You know, if you’re not careful, I may get used to this.
They pull apart and smile.
K: I’m happier then I’ve been in a really long time.
J: I’m happy for you, and for me.
K: Why for you?
J: Because every day there’s more reasons for you to stay here. And, uh, if you need more convincing, well…
K: (smiling) I’m convinced.
