Michael Dietz Bio

Michael Dietz was born in Allison Park, Pennsylvania, near Pittsburgh. His parents divorced when he was three, and his mom remarried when he was ten. He says he has good relationships with him mother, father, and stepfather. He attended Pennsylvania State University, where he became interested in acting. Following his sophomore year, Dietz drove cross country and met his manager when he tagged along with a friend who was catering a party for Woody Harrelson.

Michael Dietz originated the role of Dr. Joe Scanlon in the ABC Daytime drama, Port Charles, a role he played successfully for two years. However, in 1999, Dietz was let go from PC. Soon after, he landed a guest-starring role on the ABC series Wasteland. Unfortunately, ABC dropped the show from it's lineup before Michael's episode aired. Since then, he has appeared several times on E!'s Search Party with Arianne Zuker and various other soap stars (with blonde hair!), and has guest-starred on Charmed and The Drew Carey Show.

Prior to Port Charles, Dietz also appeared as Alan Michael on Guiding Light. Other television credits include guest-starring roles on the series, Beverly Hills, 90210 and Baywatch; Someone's Watching, a television movie; and the pilot, Nowhere Fast.

In his spare time, Dietz enjoys working out, running and playing his guitar.

Michael dated Arianne Zuker (Nicole, Days) for quite some time. They had been e planning an October 1999 wedding, but as of January 2000, it was reported that Michael and Arianne have called off their engagement.

Michael was married to Paige Rowland in 2002 and they have a daughter named Madison Michaela.
