The letter that Dr. Zimman sent home approximately two weeks ago has been blown way out of proportion by the local tabloids. They do NOT know what they are talking about; I know this because I myself am a student at Brown Deer High School. Let me note that we need MORE funding for our schools! They SUCK! Our students need more education and less work. I feel that the students should be allowed more freedom, I feel I speak for the student body when I say, We need more FREE TIME! We feel too cooped up in school. We also need cheaper lunches.
Now getting back to that letter. Our student body feels that they should be able to dance how they feel like, which I agree with. There was a walkout scheduled for September 29th against the no Grinding policy. Now this was canceled because if it did go through all other dances, I believe including the prom, would be canceled. Now if they would go and get a petition signed they could take it to the school board and have the rule repealed. I don t see why they don t do that. It would get the message through a lot faster and there would be no canceled dances.
As for the local tabloids. Stay the F*%k out of our business. It is because of you that we got in so much trouble. If you come by our dances anymore...I will make your lives a living HELL! And I speak again for the student body when I say it isn t any of your business what we do; it s no ones business, so stay out of it. For your own sake!
